Η ιστολογική εξέταση έδειξε τεμάχια ινώδους και ινολιπώδους ιστού, με υφή πετάλων υπεζωκότα, καλυπτόμενα εστιακά απο μεμβράνες ινικής τα οποία εμφανίζουν εκτεταμένη διήθηση απο κακοήθη νεοπλασματική εξεργασία.
Τα νεοπλασματικά κύτταρα είναι σχετικά ομοιόμορφα, κυβοειδούς ή υποστρόγγυλου σχήματος και μέσου μεγέθους, με αρκετό ηωσινόφιλο κυτταρόπλασμα και ευμεγέθεις, ωοειδείς πυρήνες, συχνά διαυγείς, ενίοτε με εμφανή πυρήνια.
Τα κύτταρα αυτά διατάσσονται σε συμπαγείς νησίδες ή σχηματίζουν αναστομούμενες σωλήνες ή δοκίδες, αλλά και μεμονωμένα με εμφανές διηθητικό πρότυπο ανάπτυξης σε έντονα δεσμοπλαστικό στρώμα. Το τελευταίο εστιακά εμφανίζει μυξοειδή εκφύλιση.

The histological examination showed blocks of fibroid and fibroadipose tissue, with a pleural petal texture, focally covered by fibrin membranes which show extensive infiltration by a malignant neoplastic proliferation.
The neoplastic cells are relatively uniform, of a cuboid or somewhat round shape and of average size, with enough eosinophil cytoplasm and sizeable, oval nucleuses, often clear, sometimes with explicit nucleoli.
These cells are arranged in compact islets or form anastomotic tubes or trabeculae, but also arranged] individually with an obvious filterable growth model to an intensively desmoplastic layer. This last one focally shows myxoid degeneration.
