English to Italian: Arbi and the Fire Breathing Dragon - by Iker Burguera General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Poetry & Literature
Source text - English Once upon a time in a beautiful valley far, far away was a peaceful village. Everything and everyone lived in perfect harmony. The friendly villagers were always happy and full of smiles. Until one day...
A fierce fire breathing dragon flew across the sky high above the village. As it roared, flames shot out its mouth. The dragon flapped its wings, soared even higher into the sky and then landed on the top of a nearby mountain. At the top of the mountain was a deep, dark cave that the dragon wanted to use as its lair.
Translation - Italian C’era una volta, in una bellissima valle molto lontana, un tranquillo villaggio, dove tutto e tutti vivevano in perfetta armonia.
English to Italian: The Wise Men of Pizzo General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Poetry & Literature
Source text - English Thanks to my dependable antidepressant, I slept profoundly all night while Alessandro's memory patiently awaited my awakening. I had known him quite well in my youth before leaving for the Americas. He was an extraordinary handsome man: tall, with delicate feminine features tempered by a naturally masculine conduct and inconsistent shaving habits. He had black, curly hair and light blue eyes enveloped within long, dark eyelashes that, when he stared at you, penetrated the soul and distracted the perception of beauty in favor of depth and intelligence. His hands were poised, gracefully accompanying his words without exaggerated Southern affectation. His athletic figure was slim and inconspicuous while his magnetic personality and charisma could be better described as distracting. No matter the topic of discussion, his presence was sensed as the dominant element, and the listener was automatically soothed by a sense of belonging to an elite aristocracy of divine elegance. But perhaps most remarkable was his smile that, when it suddenly appeared, flanked by playful dimples like sun rays breaking through the clouds, bestowed a feeling of confidence and hope, or reassurance that all worries could be forgotten in favor of enjoyment of life, which in turn was beautiful under his kingdom. His elegant demeanor, his comfortable affability, his self-confidence were strikingly in contrast to the nervous coyness that defined most of us during our teen years.

Master's degree - University of Pisa
Experience
Years of experience: 29. Registered at ProZ.com: Jan 2015.
Born and raised in Pisa, Tuscany, I also attended schools here. I took my Master's Degree at the University of Pisa, too.
I started working while still at the university, teaching children/adults to swim, while at the same time carrying on my passion: translating and teaching English (tuition to children from 11 to 18) and typing essays and thesis for me and my schoolmates.
I have always loved reading and writing. But also drawing and painting. Well, I had to give up something in the course of my life, but in the last three years I've resumed my ancient passion for drawing... and I'm now attending an evening art high school.
Too many things, maybe? But no: life is one, and a busy (and happy) mum is also good for my two sons.
