Source text - English Have you ever noticed that leaner men or women often swim faster than bigger, stronger men or women? Reducing frontal drag is certainly one of the reasons why a leaner body may have the potential to swim faster, but there is another reason, called coupling motions.
A coupling motion is defined as kinetic energy created within the body that augments the effect of the propulsive forces. These motions can occur either at the same time the propulsive forces are acting, or while the effect of the propulsive forces are still occurring. In swimming, the propulsive forces are nearly all derived from the hands and the feet, as those (along with the forearm) are the only parts that actually move backward in the water as the body moves forward. Yet there are many other motions of the body that can be used to enhance those propulsive forces.

Одной из причин, почему худые мужчины и женщины могут потенциально плыть быстрее, конечно же, является снижение фронтального сопротивления теля, но этому есть и другое пояснение: сопряженное движение.

After I graduated from the faculty for German and English teachers in 1994, I realized that teaching others is not so interesting as teaching myself. So, I continued to delve into German and English to improve my knowledge and master my skills as a translator. Living in the area known as the iron ore heart of Ukraine, I translated many documents related to mining and mineral processing, geology, and machinery. As I worked with different documents and gaining experience, I discovered the fields of translation that are the most interesting for me. These include the automotive industry (both technical and marketing), machinery, engineering, software (especially UI localization), and water sports.
Since 2014, I’ve been translating texts for global automotive and engineering manufacturers, and each year in translation brings me remarkable projects. 2019, for instance, presented me a huge (400K+) project for DE-UK localization of an automobile web-based program. 2020 challenged me to participate in a large RU-EN project and localize K-MINE GIS, which is a software for mining management. 2022 was hard and not so full of interesting projects, but I still managed to become a part of a team that translated a bunch of manuals for self-propelled artillery machines from German to Ukrainian.
I constantly work to enhance my skills and attend translation conferences every year, as it is a must for any translator.
