I have done translations all along my carrier, which rangers from nuclear power researcher through ICT industry and development aids to teaching. After my M.Sc ( technical physics) graduation in 1982, I worked as nuclear power researcher, thereafter in the telecommunications at Nokia until 2003. During my studies I stayed a year in Switzerland. In addition to my professional skills I strengthened my German abilities. I worked also in Nicaragua in development aid projects at the beginning of the 90’s. The last years I have been in the teaching.
During my stay in Nicaragua I translated many project documents to the Finnish authorities. After coming back to Finland I made Spanish to Finnish translation now and then in development projects. My work at Nokia included also translations technical documents from English to Finnish and visa verse. Because I spent a lot of time in Switzerland doing practice that was part of my studies, I have made also translations from German to Finnish. I also have a fluent Swedish language and can make translation from Swedish to Finnish. A worked in a Swedish company making technical translations and software localizations. Currently I am shifting my work from teaching more to translation.
I have translation experience on development projects, manufacturing technology, computers, hardware and software, information technology and telecommunications etc. I have translated technical and user manuals, material safety data sheets, web sites, software strings etc.
I have made translation for the Finnish authorities, NGOs like CRIES and KEPA, Hogia Data, Nokia and the Helsinki University. |
