■ 연사 : 소냐 류보머스키(미국 캘리포니아대학교 교수)
■ 주제 : 행복교육
행복은 좋다고 느끼는 감정일 뿐만 아니라 그 자체로 좋은 것이다. 행복한 사람들은(그렇지 않은 사람들과 비교하여) 좀 더 창의적이고, 생산적이고, 타인을 돕고, 더 안정된 결혼생활을 하며 강한 면역체계를 가지고 있다고 한다. 긍정심리학을 바탕으로 이십여 년 간 추진해온 행복연구의 결과를 소개하고 '서울행복교육'에 중요한 시사점을 찾아보도록 한다.
ㅇ 연구결과로 나타나는 '행복'은 무엇이고 '행복한 사람'은 누구이며 우리는 어떻게 행복한 삶을 추구 할 수 있는가?
ㅇ 행복한 사람들이 보여주는 성공을 서울 교육에 적용하여 학생들이 행복해지고 성공을 거둘 수 있도록 지원 가능한 이론적·실천적 의미를 모색해본다.

행복교육은 대학에서 학문적으로만 연구되어지는 것이 아니라 유·초·중등 교육현장에서 실천적으로 운영이 됨으로써 이 사회 모든 이가 행복하게 성공적인 삶을 살 수 있기를 추구하는 교육정책이다.
ㅇ 우리나라 행복교육의 이론과 실제 사례를 공유한다.
ㅇ 서울 행복교육의 성과와 보완점을 제시한다.

■ 주제 : 행복한 교육
도덕수업이나 학교 행사를 통해 학생들의 꿈과 끼를 살리는 행복한 교육이 지속적으로 연구되고, 성공적으로 진행되어 왔다. 그 행복한 교육의 중요성과 효과에 대하여 더 많은 관심과 논의가 필요한 시기이다.

■ 주제 : 끼를 찾아주는 교육
독일은 복잡하면서도 잘 정비된 ‘학교 직업교육 체제’를 갖춘 것으로 유명한 나라이다. 실질적인 ‘학교 직업교육’을 통해 학생들이 자신의 소질과 잠재능력을 배양하고 진로를 적극적으로 준비하는 과정에서 행복한 삶을 살 수 있도록 지원하는 것은 매우 의미 있는 일이다. 학생들의 자존감을 높여 행복함을 느끼는 가운데 사회에서 필요로 하는 인재로 키우기 위한 방안을 독일교육의 현실을 통해 알아보고자 한다.
ㅇ 독일의 학교에서 직업교육 제도를 통하여 학생들을 사회에 필요한 다양한 인재로 키워내는 직업교육정책과, 초등학교부터 고등학교까지 실시하는 진로교육의 내용 및 진로 선택과정을 제시한다.
ㅇ 독일의 ‘학교 직업교육’ 제도가 학생의 행복실현에 기여하고 있는 사례를 공유하고, 서울 교육이 나아 가야할 직업교육의 방향을 찾는다.
■ 연사 : 마리 그리핀(아일랜드 더블린-던 라오그헤어 교육·연수청 교육관)
■ 주제 : 끼를 찾아주는 교육
아일랜드의 ‘전환학년제(Transition Year)’는 고등학교 과정 중에 학생 개개인의 관심과 흥미에 따라 재학하는 학교 밖에서 듣고 싶은 과목 혹은 프로그램을 골라 직접 공부하고 체험하는 특별학년 제도이다. 아일랜드의 많은 학생들이 이 시기에 자신의 진로에 대한 답을 찾았다고 보고되고 있다.
ㅇ ‘전환학년제’가 성공될 때 까지 교육의 주체들이 ‘전환학년제’ 실행을 위하여 어떤 노력을 기울이게 되었는지 알아본다.
ㅇ 각 학교에서 자율적으로 결정하고 실시하는 ‘전환학년제’ 프로그램 운영 사례 및 기업이나 지역사회와 협력 관계를 공유한다.
ㅇ ‘전환학년제’의 실질적인 성과와 보완되어야 할 문제점을 알아본다.

일본은 학력 뿐 아니라 인성 함양에도 도움이 되는 교육을 실시하고자 노력하고 있다. 행복한 삶을 영위하도록 하는 전인 교육적 관점에서 ‘총합적 학습’이 일본 교육에 조금씩 자리를 넓히고 있다.
ㅇ ‘총합적 학습’의 도입 취지와 실제적인 운영 사례를 알아본다.
ㅇ 행복 교육의 관점에서 ‘총합적 학습’이 서울교육에 보여줄 수 있는 시사점을 모색해 본다.
■ 연사 : 스튜어트 그라이어(미국 그라이어학교 설립자/교장 )
■ 주제 : 꿈을 키워주는 학교
미국은 교육의 주체인 학생과 학부모의 요구에 따라 국가주도의 공립학교 시스템에서 부터 부모가 교육의 주축을 담당하는 홈스쿨링 까지 다양한 형태의 교육 프로그램들이 다채롭게 시행되고 있다. 특히 학교별 독특한 교육과정을 채택하고 특성화된 교육을 통해 학생과 지역사회의 교육적 만족도를 높이고 있는 미국의 ‘작은 학교’가 주목받고 있다.
ㅇ 타 교육과 차별화된 ‘작은 학교’의 교수-학습 현황과 효과를 알아본다.
ㅇ 그라이어 학교의 성공 사례를 통해 'Small Schools Movement'의 의의 및 학생 중심의 행복교육을 제공할 수 있는 서울교육의 나아갈 바를 모색한다.

Happiness is not just good for our feelings, it is good in itself. Happy people (when compared with those that aren’t happy) are more creative, better thinkers, help others more often, and have safer longer marriages, and stronger immunes systems. With positive psychology as a foundation, I will introduce to you the results of scores of research about happiness and look at the important implications for “Seoul Happiness Education”
ㅇ What does research say about what is “happiness”?, who is a “happy person”? and how
can we pursue of life of happiness??
ㅇ If we apply what made happy people successful in Seoul Education, students will become
happier and succeed; let’s look at the practical and theoretical meaning of this kind of
supportable possibility.

Happiness Education, which brings to life the dreams and talents of our students, has been steadily researched and is successfully progressing through moral education classes and school events. This is the time where we need more interest in and discussion about the effects and importance of Happiness Education

ㅇ Present a strategy for the normalization of Happiness Education to be effective through a

Even though Germany is a complicated country, it is for its highly organized “School Vocational Education System. Via actual “School Vocational Education, students cultivate their talents and latent abilities and actively prepare for work in their curriculum so that they can live a happy life; this is very meaningful work. Let’s look at the actual way German education cultivates students’ talents in society being focused on students’ dignity and their feeling of happiness.
ㅇ Present vocational education policies that cultivate a variety of talents needed by students in
society, the content of vocational education and the vocational curriculum options that are
implemented from elementary school to high school, via the vocational education system at
schools in Germany
ㅇ Share examples in which Germany’s “vocational education school” system has
contributed to the actualization of happiness in its students and find direction for Seoul’s
vocational education.

The Transition Year is system that is part of high school curriculum in Ireland; students select subjects and programs which align with their interests and directly study and experience those things outside of school for one year. It is reported that many students find what they want to do with their lives during this period.
ㅇ Look at what efforts were needed for this education’s principle agents to implement the
transition year until it was successful.
ㅇ Share examples of the operation of the transition year program which is voluntarily
implemented and decided upon at each school and the relationships of cooperation that have
occurred with the local community and businesses.
ㅇ Look at the actual results and problems of the transition year which need to be
supplemented.

Effort is being put for education to be implemented in Japan which is not just for academic ability, but for education to be helpful in also cultivating one’s character. From a whole-rounded educational perspective, room for holistic educational practice in Japan is widening little by little so that one can lead a happy life.

educational practice.

There are a wide variety of educational programs in the U.S.A. following from the requests by parents and students from the public school system lead nationally to homeschooling where parents take the key role in the education of their children. America’s “small schools” are especially gaining attention through the individual unique curriculum selection and special education that has their students’ and the local community’s level of educational satisfaction high.
ㅇ Look at the current situation and effects of the teaching methods and practices in “small
schools” as distinguished from other types of education.
ㅇ Look at what opportunities can the meaning of the “Small Schools Movement” and the
student-focused Happiness Education provide for Seoul education through the example of
success of the Grauer school
