English to Korean: Lasting Childbirth Pain Tied to Postpartum Depression General field: Medical Detailed field: Medical: Health Care | |
Source text - English Women who continue to experience pain from childbirth one month after having a baby may be more likely to develop postpartum depression, a new study suggests.
Specifically, researchers found that women in Singapore who had pain that lasted longer than four weeks after they gave birth had higher scores on tests that measured the women's risk forpostpartum depression. This was compared with both new mothers who had no pain following delivery and with women whose pain resolved by four weeks.
The findings suggest that persistent childbirth pain in women is linked with a greater risk for postpartum depression, said Dr. Ban Leong Sng, the senior author of the study and the deputy head of the department of women's anesthesia at KK Women's and Children's Hospital in Singapore.

Participants who were in this training were required to live in this training camp in specific amount of time and they were required to wear a spacesuit when they came out of the dome even for a second.
It is 4th research of isolation via HI-SEAS. After 4 months of isolation experiment in 2013, NASA ran another 4-months and 8-months experiments continuously.
This experiment was designed to study sociality of people who live in isolated camp. For example, Peter Roma, a professor of Johns Hopkins University, and his team tested job performance of the researchers in HI-SEAS via a software called TPT. TPT is a type of a sociality test tool that scores individual’s level of selfishness and empathy. Dr. Roma and his team aim to learn the effects of long-term isolation to sociality by analyzing the participants’ TPT score and their blood hormone level.
