With both Mandarin and Cantonese as my mother language, I have been working in translation since 2013.
I hold a master's degree in Editorial, Economic, Technical Translation from one of the best translation schools in the world : Ecole Supérieure d’Interprètes et de Traducteurs (ESIT), Paris, France. I translate between English/French <-> Simplified and traditional Chinese and I also provide interpretation services between these languages.
My experience of working as in-house translator/proofreader (at Technicis Translation, France) has shown me that, the biggest problem of translating into one's mother langue is the lack of understanding of the source language. Extensive reading in both English and French, as well as three years of living in France have greatly enhanced my ability to understand these languages and the linguistic and cultural code behind them. This allows me to explain complicated ideas in simple but elegant Chinese.
