Translation - English However, it is possible that Jared Gimbel is the most multilingual of the Yiddishist polyglots. A regular guest at "Yiddish-Vokh" and many other Yiddishist events, the linguist, language teacher and author has recently uploaded a short video of himself in which he speaks 32 languages. Among the languages are not just widely spoken languages such as Spanish, German, Russian and Portuguese but also a number of smaller and rarer languages such as Irish, Cornish, Welsh, Breton, Faroese and Greenlandic.

Jared Gimbel is a polyglot of mixed Ashkenazi Jewish and Swedish-American heritage. When he heard at a dinner table in Stockholm that he could actually learn a language to fluency as an adult, he realised he could have the world. He now lives in New York City where he is developing a video game set for release in 2017 / 2018, “Kaverini: Nuuk Adventures”, an RPG set in contemporary Greenland.
