Both Korean and English are my native tongues as my father was American and mother Korean. Excluding a few years in the United States, I attended international school in Korea for most of my elementary and high school education, and attended university in Illinois majoring in political science.
I've worked for several major Korean companies such as Korean Airlines and Lotte, but regularly took side jobs as a freelance translator, which I later committed to as a full-time Korean to English translator.
I earned the highest translation qualification in Korean-to-English at the Korean Society of Translators.
Some high-profile translation jobs that I completed include Korea's government-initiated COVID-19 tracking app, ongoing work mainly involving internal documents for LG Chemical and Lotte Chemical, and worked on projects with Samsung, LG IPTV, BNP Paribas, SM Entertainment, Asan Medical Center, local government offices, as well as building English websites for the National Museum of Korea and Incheon International Airport, and hundreds of academic papers. Aside from translating, I also proofread the works of other translators, including extensive projects such as the English versions of the laws of the Republic of Korea.
