Paper is a thin material which is used to write or paint on it. It was generally made of vegetable fiber, and paper made from mulberry was widely used in Korea. Aside from mulberry, paper was also made from a mixture of straw and mulberry. Paper was referred to in various names according to the material, thickness, and surface finish. When printing or transcribing a book, or writing various documents, many pieces of uniformly-sized paper would be used in bound stacks. Although paper was sometimes used for practicing handwriting, it was rarity at the time, and a writing board (bunpan) or a sand box (sapan) would commonly be used instead. In the past, written letters were the most important means of communication, and thus paper was mostly used for correspondence. Paper was cut into an appropriate size for letters, and folded into an envelope using the same piece of paper. This type of writing paper was simply referred to as stationery paper (ganji). Paper cut into a fixed size, joined together widthwise, and then rolled up was referred to as a scroll of paper (juji). Some scrolls of paper were made with a sequence of dyed papers with different colors, which were often used as luxury decorations, for instance, in a verse scroll or an inventory of goods. Stationery paper and paper scrolls were generally stored in a paper stand or a latter holder, and taken out when necessary. For writing poetry or letters, decorative letter paper was printed using an engraved wooden plate. Paper was also cut into small pieces and used as bookmarks, which were kept in a pouch.

2.3.1 Measurement data
Measurement data for parameters consist of mole fractions or meteorological data and
relevant data (data flag, standard deviation, the number of data used to average, etc.). In the case
of mobile platforms, measurement locations (latitude and longitude, etc.) are also included in the
measurement data. The measurement data must represent physical quantities and are not “raw
data” (see Section 3.2). Measurement data for atmospheric constituents should use units in mole
fractions such as ppm ( mol/mol), ppb (nmol/mol), and ppt (pmol/mol), instead of concentrations
such as g/m3. Other parameters should be reported in widely accepted units: ‰ for isotopic
measurements, Bq/m3 for 222Rn and 85Kr, and mol/kg or mol/! for total inorganic carbon.
2.3.2 Metadata
Metadata are additional information for observation such as observatory locations, sampling
conditions, measurement methods, calibrations, traceability of employed scale, quality management
4
information, etc. Metadata are essential to utilize measurement data. Published scientific papers
are also useful for further reference. Therefore, the WDCGG requests Contributors to keep their
metadata up-to-date and make the observation conditions clear to data users. If part of the
metadata is changed, the data version may also change (see Section 5.2). Data users should fully
understand the metadata to use the data appropriately for their own purposes.
2.4 Archived data
Measurement data and metadata are stored in the WDCGG and provided to users as
“Archived data”. The WDCGG prepares user supporting information based on Archived data.
2.5 Data flagging
The data flag, which is given by the Contributor, represents the quality or classification of
measurement data based on observation conditions. The latter are related to instrument state or
meteorological conditions, which could be critical in identifying influences of sources and sinks
around the station. The data flag consists of values or characters defined by the Contributors, and
each piece of measurement data must have its own data flag. The WDCGG requests Contributors
to provide their flags with simple and specific definitions. Below is an example of the
NOAA/ESRL/GMS flagging.

대기 구성성분의 측정데이터는μg/m3와 같은 농도를 사용하는 대신, ppm(μmol/mol), ppb(nmol/mol), ppt(pmol/mol)과 같은 몰분율 단위를 사용해야 한다.

아래의 표는 NOAA/ESRL/GMS 플래깅의 예시이다.

As safety issues concerning chemical substances transferred to food such as the case of “pesticide eggs” are recently on the rise as a social concern, the safety of chemical preparations including sanitizers and disinfectants is taking on growing significance. In particular, residues of sanitizers and disinfectants, which are applied to food contact surfaces, carry the risk of being transferred to food and their effects cannot be immediately identified, which necessitate meticulous management in the context of food safety. Moreover, in the food industry, the use of various kinds of chemicals is increasing in order to minimize microbial hazards through sterilization and disinfection.

Therefore, as part of the basic research to improve the evaluation methods for the use of food-contact-surface sanitizers and disinfectants, this study focused on the safety management and effectiveness evaluation of active ingredients in sanitizers and disinfectants including alcohols, chlorines, hydrogen peroxides, and quaternary ammonium compounds, and substances produced through mechanical devices such as hypochlorous acid and chlorine dioxide, as well as commercial products. It also sought to enhance its reliability by operating an advisory committee composed of food safety experts to share research findings and reflecting the opinions of competent authorities.
