Korean to English: 김창열 개인전, Kim Tchangyeol's Solo Exhibition General field: Art/Literary Detailed field: Art, Arts & Crafts, Painting
Translation - English has been published on the occasion of Kim Tchangyeol's solo exhibition. The exhibition focuses on 'text', which shapes a large vein of the artist’s oeuvre alongside his signature water droplets. Although the text has not been explored extensively in past exhibitions and research, their presence is as strong as the water droplets, and stands as one of the most critical elements in Kim Tchangyeol's paintings. Initiated with painted in 1975, Kim Tchangyeol has attempted to conjoin water droplets, which symbolize life, purity, and with text, which symbolizes reason, duty and civilization.

Bio
I was born in Texas, moved to Korea at age 9, and moved back to the states (Boston) at 18 to study Fine Art. I grew up speaking both Korean and English natively. I have professional experiences translating song lyrics, poems, art related articles, and also transcribing documentaries. As an artist and poet at heart, I enjoy artistic/creative translations the most. I have a thorough understanding of both Korean and American culture, and I am here to provide exceptional service for any Korean to English or English to Korean projects.
