Bio
My journey in the fantastic world of translation and localisation started 7 years ago, when I enrolled in the Master's degree in Linguistics and Translation at the University of Pisa. This experience gave me the opportunity to learn about the latest translation techniques, methodologies, and softwares from professors and experienced translators, all while gaining specialised knowledge and insight in Linguistics & French and English literature. I obtained the Trados certification and had an opportunity to learn on the job while completing two internships, one at Language Data Bank in Viareggio (Italy), working as an assistant project manager for translation projects and study trips abroad, and one at Alpha CRC in Cambridge (UK) as a translator for beauty, clothing and fashion clients. I also worked with ABC Language Solutions (Vancouver, CA) as a freelance translator and editor.
After graduating from university, I moved to Cambridge, where I worked as a project manager for Alpha CRC and as a freelance translator for Qabiria, Loki, and Language Connect. I specialised in IT, beauty/fashion, games localisation and technical translation (eg. agriculture and laser machinery).
I have recently gained the CELTA certificate (B) from Cambridge Regional College, thus expanding my knowledge and professional experience of languages and language teaching.
My main interests include technology, gaming, creative writing.
