English to Portuguese: Qual é a diferença entre empresas de capital aberto e de capital fechado? General field: Bus/Financial Detailed field: Finance (general)
Source text - English Privately held companies are - no surprise here - privately held. This means that, in most cases, the company is owned by the company's founders, management or a group of private investors. A public company, on the other hand, is a company that has sold a portion of itself to the public via an initial public offering of some of its stock, meaninig shareholders have claim to part of the company's assets and profits.
Translation - Portuguese Uma empresa de capital fechado é uma empresa cuja posse é privada. Na maior parte dos casos, isso significa que os donos da empresa são seus fundadores, seus administradores ou um grupo de investidores privados. Uma empresa de capital aberto, por outro lado, vendeu parte de suas ações para o público em uma oferta pública inicial, o que significa que seus acionistas detêm parte dos ativos e participam dos lucros da mesma.

Bio
In the past years I have been studying and working as a translator and as an interpreter. I have studied technical translations, such as law and contract; medicine; business/finacial; and I have also studied literary translations. I scored maximum or almost maximum grades at interpreting at Alumni, the only translation/interpretation school in Brazil that is approved by the Embassy of the United States.
I took part in the Tampa Bay Mission, organized by the Consulate of the United States, as an interpreter for American Freedom Distillery company.
