My
name is Marika and I'm originally from Italy. I graduated in Foreign Languages
and Communication Sciences at the University Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milan
in 2003. Following a year of work experience in translation from/to Italian
into/from French or English, the knowledge of Foreign Languages directed the
course of my career towards the world of banking and finance where I have been
working for the past 18 years.

Although
finance has never been my primary interest in life, it has allowed me to travel,
live and work in several countries such as Italy, the UK, Australia, France and
Switzerland. Currently based in France, I’m now looking for a change in my
career, in order to go back to my first real interest: languages. I’m fluent in
Italian, my mother tongue, English and French and I use these languages both
professionally and in my personal life on a daily basis.

At
University, I attended specific courses in translation from/to English and
French, into/from Italian. I have subsequently performed technical and legal
translations in a professional environment as well as translations in the accounting,
financial and marketing fields. I have also performed translations from French
to Italian, and from English or French to Italian (and vice-versa) of
administrative procedures, end of monthly commercial reports, and of articles
for internal corporate websites. During my financial and banking career, I have
often been involved in translations of Powerpoint presentations, of ad hoc
official documents and of client facing explanatory notes.

Always
in a professional environment, I had performed proof-reading work of documents
in French and English to assist my colleagues and have been involved in
simultaneous translations from French into Italian of technical subjects related
to company training documentation.

On a personal note, I'm a highly organised person, able to work to deadlines in an accurate way. I
possess exceptional communication skills and am highly flexible and versatile -
this is demonstrated by my work experience, as I have been able to build up a
career in finance from a literacy background.
