Source text - Indonesian Pornografi yang gencar dipublikasikan melalui berbagai macam bentuk media komunikasi pada akhirnya akan menimbulkan efek media. Efek media ini akan tergantung pada realita yang ada (misal: kelompok sebaya). Apabila realita sesuai dengan keyakinan yang dimiliki seseorang yaitu melarang ataupun menolak pornografi maka keyakinan akan tidak berubah. Namun sebaliknya, manakala realita tidak mentabukan pornografi sementara keyakinan melarang pornografi, maka keyakinan bisa berubah. Perubahan keyakinan tergantung seberapa erat hubungan interaksi antara individu dengan realita yang ada. Semakin erat hubungan maka semakin cepat perubahan keyakinan dilakukan, dan sebaliknya. Perubahan yang dilakukan merupakan perwujudan upaya pencapaian keseimbangan kognitif.
Translation - English The incessant publication of pornography through various forms of media communication will in the end cause a “media effect”. This media effect will depend on current reality (example : peer group). If reality conforms with the faith a person believes in, such as prohibition or objection towards pornography then their beliefs will not change. On the contrary, if reality does not denote pornography as something taboo, while their faith prohibits pornography then their beliefs may change. The change in one's beliefs is dependent on how close the interaction between each individual and the reality is. The closer the relationship is, the sooner the change in their beliefs may occur, and vice versa. The changes made are embodiments of the attempt to reach cognitive balance.
