Coming from an immigrant family, Tim grew up in a
multi-lingual household.  After studying
German early in life, he fell in love with linguistics and continued to expand his repertoire and skills on his own. 
While pursuing careers in cooking, shipping and the arts, Tim was often
called on for translation and interpretation. This led to small translation
projects and contact with other languages. 
Over the years, he has studied over half a dozen languages in depth and
several others casually.
