민법은 사인 간의 법률관계를 규율하는 기본법인데, 사인 간의 계약관계는 원칙적으로 민법에 의하여 규율됩니다. 그런데 민법에는 계약 해석의 원칙을 명시적으로 규정한 조항이 없습니다. 다만 대법원은 그 동안 다수 판례들을 통하여 계약 해석의 원칙을 정립하여 왔습니다. 한국 민법학자들은 이러한 판례들에 나타나는 계약 해석의 원칙을 일반적으로 ① 자연적 해석, ② 규범적 해석, ③ 보충적 해석이라는 세 가지 유형으로 나누어 설명하고 있습니다		Translation - English
Civil law is a fundamental law defining legal relationship between private persons, a contractual relationship is principally governed by the civil law. However, the Civil Law has no provisions expressly stipulating the contract-interpretation principles. But the Supreme Court of Korea, through a number of cases, has established the principles. Korean civil law scholars explain these principles categorizing into three general types: 1) natural interpretation, 2) normative interpretation, 3) supplemental interpretation.

I am a US lawyer (NJ license) living and working in USA for more than 20 years. I have lots of legal experience from transactions(30%) to litigation (70%) in a reputable New York law firm and as running my own law office. Now I am staying in South Korea for my old parents living here while still running my law office in New Jersey.

About 60% of my clients are from Korean community sit on the area therefore, I have a lot of experience on legal translating from Korean to English and vice versa. 

I handled various type of litigation in state courts and US federal courts and various type of transactions for International, United States and Korean companies. Recently, I represented a corporate client (plaintiff) where in a jury trial where the jury awarded $1 million for a breach of contract and business torts causes.
