About me: I am a NAATI certified translator, proficient medical writer and a medical research scientist. I am a great copywriter, with numerous articles published in medical journals. I am fluent in Portuguese and English as I lived 14 years in Brazil and over 20 years in Australia. I want to put my writing and bilingual skills to good use and translate!
Translation experience: Most of my experience is in medical and pharmaceutical translation. Nevertheless, my skills are transferrable and can be applied to other areas! I am able to translate ~3000 words/day and review/proofread ~7000 words/day.
Background: As an undergraduate I did freelance technical translations for Ferrostaal (Brazil) and was also an EFL teacher at Greenwhich Schools (Brazil). I then moved to Switzerland, for a year, where I worked as an aupair (Horgenberg) and a waitress (Greifensee) while I studied German. I then returned to Brazil and worked as an EFL teacher at Rizvi International schools while I was studying for my BSc degree.
I graduated as a Bachelor in Biological Sciences (Brazil), completed a PhD in Medicine (Australia) and then obtained a Diploma in Translation (Australia).
Medical Translation/Writing background I have over 6 years of academic research experience in inflammation as well as 10 years of pharmaceutical industry research expertise in drug development.
Skilled in translating, writing, proofreading and editing medical documents, such as preclinical/clinical protocols, amendments, reports, product inserts, manuals, informed consent, surveys, RFQs, SOPs, manuals and training modules. Writing and collating data for investigators brochures, patents, journal articles and grant applications. Primary author and co-author of several publications in high-ranking research journals.
Hobbies: Playing volleyball, playing piano, cooking, travelling, reading science fiction novels.
