Hello

I am an English Literature graduate looking for practical translation
experience. I order to get a step off the ground in the business I am happy and
willing to work for free. I was born in Sweden and Swedish is my native
language, but I have moved permanently to UK and now primarily speak English in
my day to day life. With a lot of family left in Sweden I use the language daily
and visit Sweden a minimum of twice per year usually more than that. I spend a
lot of time translating Swedish children’s books into English as I am reading
them to my own children, who are growing up as English speakers. I also interpret
for my non-Swedish speaking husband when we visit Sweden together and helped my
sister translate her dissertation into English for submittal to university.
Translating between English and Swedish is part of my day to day life and I am
very keen to hopefully make it my profession too.
