Source text - Korean

It is advised to discuss an aim that best suits you with your medical practitioner.
B. Blood pressure regulation aims
A diabetic should aim to keep their blood pressure controlled at a reading lower than 140/80mmHg.
However, for young diabetes patients who have developed kidney complications, maintaining a systolic reading of lower than 130mmHg is advisable.
C. Cholesterol (lipid) regulation aims
In terms of lipids, there are good cholesterol lipids (HDL) which remove cholesterol from the blood, in turn helping in preventing cardiovascular illnesses, there are bad cholesterol lipids (LDL) which increase the risks of developing cardiovascular illnesses, and there are neutral fats.
If a diabetic patient’s good cholesterol levels drop, neutral fats and bad cholesterol levels tend to increase.
A diabetic patient must check their cholesterol levels at least more than once a year, and needs to be active in the management of these levels. |
