Valadao, who works as a Production Engineer, already covered 12 countries and was amazed by the cultures he got to know. Because he is traveling by bicycle, his contact with people becomes even closer, making him really integrate with the communities he passes through. He took advantage of the reach of social networks to keep in touch with Brazilians and other people who live in the countries where he passed and thus received suggestions for places to visit, sights and even directions.
He said that he started this trip because he wasn’t satisfied with his day to day routine and wanted to do something different. The idea was to leave his comfort zone, and was inspired by the book “Homem livre”, by Danilo Perroti, where the writer narrates his bicycle adventure that spanned three years and three months, passing through 57 countries. Valadao spent months thinking about accomplishing the same feat, and in September 2018 he notified his boss that he wont be returning to work in Bahia. After that, he went back to his hometown and bought a bicycle. After that he began to research, look at maps, and get himself ready.
