Source text - English Translation is the communication of the meaning of a source language text by means of an equivalent target language text. The English language draws a terminological distinction (which does not exist in every language) between translating (a written text) and interpreting (oral or signed communication between users of different languages); under this distinction, translation can begin only after the appearance of writing within a language community.
Translation - Portuguese Tradução é a comunicação do significado do texto de uma língua fonte por meio de um texto equivalente em uma língua alvo. A língua inglesa faz uma distinção terminológica (que não existe em toda língua) entre traduzir (um texto escrito) e interpretar (comunicação oral ou sinalizada entre usuários de diferentes línguas); sob essa distinção, a tradução só pode surgir depois da aparição da escrita dentro de uma comunidade linguística.
