General field: Tech/Engineering
Source text - Russian
Translation - English Requirements for heat supply piping work
A. Heat supply pipelines are laid both on racks and on free standing pillars. Simultaneous laying of industrial pipelines, heat networks, power cables, cables of monitoring devices, and communications cables should be done where necessary and possible.
B. If necessary, pipelines are thermally insulated and electrically heated to prevent freezing of materials and reduce heat loss.
C. All sections of steam pipelines that can be turned off by shut-off valves are to be equipped with a union with a valve at the end points for heating and sweeping; and with a union and two separate valves (closing and control) under a pressure more 2.2 MPa.
D. The pitch of horizontal sections of steam and hot-water pipelines should be at least 0.004; and the pitch of heat network pipelines is at least 0.002.
E. Areas for marking of indictor travel should be provided for steam and hot-water pipelines with an inner diameter of at least 150 mm and a steam temperature of at least 300°C. Free access to indicator travel and service platforms should be provided where necessary.
F. Blast devices should be provided for the lower end points of the steam pipelines and for the lower points of pipe bends.
The thyristor unit is an integral element of industrial equipment.
The thyristor unit can cause riskful voltage variations during electric power supply. Do not remove the plastic cover. Do not use this device in the aerospace or nuclear industry.
When connecting the thyristor unit out of service to the normal power supply, before touching it, make sure that the unit is insulated and wait for at least a minute for the internal capacitors to discharge.
Thyristor units are sensitive to interference from nearby equipment or power supply. Because of this, in accordance with the code of practice, certain safety measures should be taken:
• Coil contactors, relays and other induction load devices are to be equipped with an RC filter.
• For input and output signals use shielded bipolar cables.
• Do not route signal cables next to or parallel to power cables.
• It is strictly necessary to comply with the local electric installation regulations.
English to Russian: Gas treatment and compression General field: Tech/Engineering Detailed field: Petroleum Eng/Sci
Source text - English Gas treatment and compression
Incoming gas is first cooled in a heat exchanger. It then passes through the scrubber to remove liquids and goes into the compressor. The anti-surge loop and the surge valve (UV0121 23) allows the gas to recirculate.
Scrubbers and reboilers
The separated gas may contain mist and other liquid droplets. Drops of water and hydrocarbons also form when the gas is cooled in the heat exchanger, and must be removed before it reaches the compressor. If liquid droplets enter the compressor, they will erode the fast rotating blades. A scrubber is designed to remove small fractions of liquid from the gas. There are various types of gas-drying equipment available, but the most common suction (compressor) scrubber is based on dehydration by absorption in triethylene glycol (TEG). The scrubber consists of many levels of glycol layers. A large number of gas traps (enlarged detail) force the gas to bubble up through each glycol layer as it flows from the bottom to the top of each section. Processed glycol is pumped in at the top from the holding tank. It flows from level to level against the gas flow as it spills over the edge of each trap. During this process, it absorbs liquids from the gas and comes out as rich glycol at the bottom. The holding tank also functions as a heat exchanger for liquid, to and from the reboilers.
Translation - Russian
