Atalaya Global provides translation and localization support to translation companies around the globe. Angela Smith Kirkman, President of Atalaya Global, has been in the localization industry for thirteen years, holding positions in all areas of the business from translation, to project management, subcontractor recruiting, sales, and quality system management.

Atalaya Global works with a large network of translators representing all European languages. Although our primary focus is life sciences, we work with excellent linguists in all areas of specialization. We do not work with corporate clients, and instead offer our services only to translation companies that want to subcontract a portion of their management responsibilities to specialists, thereby increasing their knowledge base and capacity.

We understand how important it is to build a support team of reliable, quality-focused people with an expert knowledge of the translation industry. Finding top-notch industry veterans to support as subcontractors can relieve much of the stress often felt by the project manager, who when supported by the right team, can delegate more responsibilities and concentrate instead on essential revenue-generating activities.

Angela Smith Kirkman graduated cum laude from the Colorado College in 1995. She began her undergraduate studies as a Chemistry major (pre-med), then after completing two years of required courses, changed her major to Romance Languages, which was her true passion.

With a base in life sciences, Angela began translating and interpreting in the medical field. She served as a medical interpreter and translator for the State of California, for private hospitals, medical offices, and localization companies specializing in medicine and life sciences.

In 1999, Angela joined a San Francisco-based translation company catering to life science clients. Until 2003, she served the company as lead Spanish-into-English translator, IVD Project Manager, Recruiting Coordinator, and Quality Management Representative.

In 2003, Angela founded Atalaya Global, a specialized translation company providing project management for larger translation companies that wish to subcontract work in order to increase their capacity. Atalaya Global offers project management into and from all European languages.
