Geologist, later industrial photographer and translator for some years with India's auto manufacturer TATA.
Now working as translator for 10 years in (west) European languages. (German, Swedish, Dutch, French, Italian).
Grosses Sprachdiplom in German from Goethe Institut-Ludwig Maxim. Uni (Munich).
Main sectors of work are automotive and machine tools (technical as well as documents relating to quality/supplier management etc.), IT-related and patents.
Constantly updating my own knowledge for a more accurate translation.

Done translation and interpretation jobs involved in technical collaborations and tech-transfer from German and Italian companies with Indian ones.

One of the first translators to use a CAT tool (Trados). Now I also use SDLX, Wordfast, Transit and Across, depending upon the nature of work.

In Sept. 2005 attended a seminar on terminology management and localization at Saarbruecken University.

Regular work from renowned German auto manufacturers, IT houses and agencies. Pricing generally EUR 8 per 100 source words, but can be discussed.
