LEGAL EXPERTISE

I completed a Graduate Diploma in Law in 2005 and am an accredited Caseworker in the area of UK Immigration Law. Both at law school, and in my subsequent work for the Immigration Advisory Service I developed a great interst in domestic and international human rights law.

BACKGROUND/TRAVEL/CULTURAL KNOWLEDGEI
grew up in Rio de Janeiro where I learnt to speak Portuguese with native fluency. I subsequently studied for a certificate in Portuguese at Cambridge.

In the last few years I have spent six months working in Mexico City, six months studying history and philosophy at the University of Cadiz, Spain and three months working for Flammarion publishers in Paris, France. This time spent abroad has served to increase both my fluency in Spanish and French and my knowledge of Hispanic and French culture and literature.

My degree focused on both translation and literary/cultural/political studies. During my degree developed a particular interest in Latin-American politics, society and literature, and in Hispanic cinema.
Keywords: law, immigration law, French/Spanish/Latin American literature, art history, film, cinema, human rights
