Source text - English 3.1.3 Professional competences of translators
Translators shall have the following competences:
a) Translation competence: the ability to translate content in accordance with 5.3.1, including the ability to
address the problems of language content comprehension and language content production, and the
ability to render the target language content in accordance with the TSP-translator agreement and other
project specifications, and to justify the results of the assessment.
b) Linguistic and textual competence in the source language and the target language: the ability to
understand the source language, fluency in the target language, and general or specialized, as
appropriate, knowledge of text-type conventions. This linguistic and textual competence includes the
ability to apply this knowledge when producing texts or other target language content.
c) Competence in research, information acquisition and processing: the ability to efficiently acquire the
additional linguistic and specialized knowledge necessary to understand the source language content and
to produce the target language content. Research competence also requires experience in the use of
research tools and the ability to develop suitable strategies for the efficient use of the information sources
available.
d) Cultural competence: the knowledge of, and ability to make use of, information on the behavioural
standards, value systems and locale that characterize both source and target language cultures.
e) Technical competence: the knowledge, abilities and skills required to perform the technical tasks in the
translation process by employing technical resources including the tools and IT systems that support the
whole translation process.
f) Domain competence: the ability to understand and manage content produced in the source language
content domain.
Translation - Russian 3.1.3 Профессиональная компетентность переводчиков
Переводчики должны обладать следующими знаниями и навыками:
a) компетентность в переводе. Компетентность в переводе - это способность переводить содержимое в соответствии с п. 5.3.1. Она включает в себя способность провести оценку трудностей в понимании текста и его создании, а также способность изложить текст на языке перевода в соответствии с условиями договора между заказчиком и ПУП и другими проектными ТЗ, и обосновать полученный результат.
b) языковая и текстовая компетентность в языке оригинала и перевода. Языковая компетентность – это способность понимать язык оригинала и совершенное владение языком перевода, а также общее или специализированное, в зависимости от нужд, знание регламента текста. Языковая и текстовая компетентность включают способность применять вышеуказанные навыки для создания текстов и другого содержимого для языке оригинала.
c) исследовательская компетентность в сборе и обработке информации. Исследовательская компетентность – это способность эффективно приобретать дополнительные лингвистические и специальные знания, необходимые для понимания текста оригинала и создания текста перевода. Исследовательская компетентность также требует наличия навыков применения исследовательского инструментария и способности разработки стратегий эффективного использования доступных источников информации.
d) социокультурная компетентность. Социокультурная компетентность - это способность использовать информацию о локали, поведенческих стандартах и системах оценки, характеризующих культуры носителей языков перевода и оригинала.
e) техническая компетентность. Техническая компетентность — это знания, способности и навыки, необходимые для решения технических задач в процессе перевода с использованием технических ресурсов, включая инструментарий и системы автоматизации перевода.
f) компетентность в предметной области. Компетентность в предметной области — способность понимать, создавать и обращаться с информацией в определённой предметной области на языке перевода.
