Hello, I am Plamen Ivanov from Sofia, Bulgaria. I have a background education in medicine (Medical Doctor since 4 October 1988) and a 5-year practice in psychiatry including a 3-year postgraduate research fellowship (1990-1993) at the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Medicine, Sofia, Bulgaria. I turned to translation practice (English > Bulgarian and Bulgarian > English) in 1993. I am active mainly in the field of medical translation but, nevertheless, I have translated almost all kinds of issues. From 2005 through 2007, I also completed the full course of study in the newly introduced European Master in Translation Program at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria (where my source languages were English and French), and successfully defended my thesis in public; I received my MA diploma on 1 November 2007. And lastly, from 2012 through 2016, I completed my training in psychiatry and was awarded a Specialist certificate in 2017.
