Source text - English Verse 70
He is full with contentment who absorbs all desires within, as the brimful ocean remains unmoved (unchanged) by waters entering into it – not he who lusts after desires.
As rivers flowing into the sea keep it ever full but do not disturb its changeless vastness, so the streams of desires, transmuted and absorbed within the changeless oceanic Self, have no ripple effect in the muni, but keep him over flowing with energy, contentment, and a peace that never oscillates.
The ordinary man has no peace. His shallow mental reservoir is constantly roiled by the inrush of sensory stimulation. Restlessly he bores holes of desires in the dam of consciousness, draining away his inner powers and contentment.
This stanza was a favorite with my great master, Swami Sri Yukteshwarji, and was oft quoted by him. He would experience some new manifestation arising from his vast inner ocean of peace (an infinite sea informed and fed by absorbing, transmuting, the inflowing rivers of all material desires); then he would express in a sonorous voice the realizations he was feeling within. His very face shone with a great inward light. At such times, those around him who were spiritually sensitive could feel my Master’s overflowing perception of peace being transferred to them. I often inwardly hear him reciting this Gita verse in Sanskrit, just as I used to in years gone by.
When the waters of the reservoir of inner peace trickle out many tapholes of little desires, those streamlets are greedily absorbed by the desert soil of material perceptions. Soon the reservoir and the desert alike are dry!
The sea, unlike a small reservoir, is vast, ever newly supplied by the rivers that flow into it. The sea is deep, too; its mighty heart seems quiet, motionless.
But such a tide as moving seems asleep,
Too full for sound and foam. . . . *
In the man of peace, his soul is a sea of contentment in which his whole consciousness is immersed. Instead of losing that peace through the avenues of small yearnings, he absorbs within himself all the rivers of desires, thereby keeping his quiescent sea filled to the brim!
On the contrary, a man who possesses a small reservoir of peace and, instead of enlarging it by self-control and meditation, lets the waters run out through a thousand channels of harmful desires, soon loses all his contentment.
Thus the advice of the Gita: Do not drain dry your reservoir of peace by diverting its waters into channels of small but ever growing desires. The true devotee desires less and less and finds more and more in his soul a sea of contentment.

This counsel does not mean that one should abandon good aspirations, such as helping others to know God. By noble desires the devotee does not lose his peace, which gathers reinforcement by distribution! This paradox is similar to Jesus’ words: “ For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath”.* In spiritual life giving is receiving.
A desire to give joy to others and the outgoing activity of giving peace to others bring back to the devotee a greater peace and joy. But the satisfaction of any selfish desire leaves the devotee a poorer man.
Letting the soul peace run out through the channels of harmful desires is wrong, but reinforcing the soul with spiritual ambitions that yield joy is right.
Everyone should try to become an ocean of peace by bringing within himself the rivers of joy from the ecstasy with God and from association with good men, study of the scriptures, selfless service activities, and nurturing spiritual desires and ambitions. The inner bed of one’s consciousness should be dug deeper and deeper with the dredging machine of profound meditation, that the incoming joys of others and their powers of virtue, and the rivers of all other sources of goodness, may find ample accommodation.
The man of God is constant and changeless in his joys, like to a vast deep ocean. His mental reservoir has become expanded into the sea of the divine Self. He attracts the rivers of goodness in other souls to flow into his being, all finally commingling in the Eternal Sea of God.
Verse 71
That person realizes peace who, relinquishing all desires, exists without craving and is unidentified with the mortal ego and its sense of “mine-ness”.
He who roams on earth, having freed himself from the compulsions of past desires, and who keeps himself impervious to the invasion of new cravings, and is no slave to the ego’s mean consciousness of “I” and “mine”, is wholly free from bondage. With the magic flute of his soul he enchants the peace within him to follow faithfully wherever he goes.
The formula of peace given in this stanza of the Bhagavad Gita is much quoted by complete renunciants and monks whose ascetic lives are free from worldly duties. A recluse seeks peace by minimizing bodily cares and renouncing worldly possessions, and by keeping the field of his mind ablaze with wisdom thoughts so that no seeds of material desires may ever again take root. By perfect renunciation he serves all links with the personal or human ego with its desires for temporal possessions.
Pease is the first product of freedom of all desires. To the recluse of the Jnana Yoga school, the rationale of asceticism is that even desires for health and ordinary creature comforts, considered good by most people, are to be looked upon as producers of evil. All desires born of the bodily contact cause endless roamings in the corridors of earthly incarnations, since one desire leads to another – like being lost in a maddening labyrinth!

When a person dies without having cast off all desires, he remains tied to rebirth on earth. Hence the renunciant not only forsakes evil desires that deeply entangle the soul in the insatiable weavings of lust for sense objects, but also does away with all personal good desires, as these may also enmesh one in earthly longings. (Noble inclinations and spiritual ambitions that are free of ego and selfish interest, and are motivated solely by a wish to please God, are desireless desires and carry no binding effects).
In relinquishing past desires, lest they spread like cancer roots and ultimately strangle his peace, the renunciant also prevents by proper thoughts, actions, and environment all possible growths of new desires. He observes an eternal vigil, keeping ever burning the sacred flame of wisdom. He learns also to separate his soul from his ego, the only absolute means of immunity to delusion. He who can disconnect his mind at will from the body realizes the difference between the pure soul made in the image of God and the soul in bondage to the boy – the ego.
A king slept on a bed of gold in a stately castle and dreamed he was a beggar. He cried: “Please give me a penny - give me a penny - I am a hungry beggar”. When the queen awakened him, he sat up, free from his dream delusions, amused by their absurdity.
The kingly soul, a perfect image of the omnipresent all-powerful Spirit, is similarly sleeping in ignorance, dreaming it is a poor mortal with afflictions and limitations. When by meditation this false body consciousness or ego consciousness disappears, the soul realizes its own status as the prince-son of the King of the Universe.
The renunciant and the wise man therefore train themselves not to identify the transcendent Self with the mortal ego and its reincarnation-making desires. Free from ego and its afflictions and attachments to earthbound existence, man inherits the everlasting peace that is his birthright.
The philosophy in this stanza, as noted, is particularly applicable to the life of the renunciant, the man of wisdom who has burnt up nearly all roots of desires of this life and past lives, and naturally inclines to a casting-off of ordinary worldly pursuits and possessions.
But to the modern householder who wants to perform worldly duties as well as find God, the Bhagavad Gita gives other counsel in Chapter III on Karma Yoga, wherein Krishna teaches that he who renounces actions is not a renunciant, nor a yogi united to God; by merely forsaking action, no one reaches perfection and the actionless state. To this end my Guru had said to me, shortly before I became a monk of the Swami Order, “He who rejects the usual worldly duties can justify himself only by assuming some kind of responsibility for a much larger family”. Both the renunciant and the householder must learn to be wholly active, but without desiring the fruits of actions.
Any man who renounces the fruits of action and acts only for God is a man of renunciation as well as a yogi. He is a man of renunciation because he relinquishes the desire to be the beneficiary of his actions; he is also a yogi, united to God, because he works only to please Him.
A devotee can attend to his health, his family, his business, and still be a renunciant within. He says to himself: “I did not create this body or this world. So why should I have attachments to them? I perform my material duties to family and others, because God gave those tasks to me. I will meditate deeply and play this temporary role just to please Him”. Such a man of inner renunciation is also a yogi, for he is ever moving toward union with God through both meditation and right action.
By this way of being in the world but not of the world one can obtain peace. It is difficult, but it can be accomplished by an iron will. The path of outward renunciation, complete escape from the earthly scenes of material trouble, relinquishing longings by constant discrimination and withdrawal from objects of temptation, is suited to the nature of a choice few devotees.
The yogi-householder , who moves among sense objects, must free himself from internal desires that cause bondage more real than the temptations of the outer world. The man of renunciation must remove himself from the entanglements of the outer jungle of material objects as well as free himself from inner longings for the objects he has relinquished. Then and then only – whether in the world or in a woodland seclusion, whether a householder or a renunciant – one can attain peace.
Working in the world or sitting silently in a forest, the one objective of the yogi should be to recover the lost peace of the soul, and the soul’s lost identity with Spirit. He who is wholly desireless and ego-free has realized this objective.
Verse 72
O Partha (Arjuna)! This is the “established in Brahman” state. Anyone entering this state is never (again) deluded. Even at the very moment of transition 9from the physical to the astral), if one becomes anchored therein, he attains the final, irrevocable, state of Spirit-communion.
Enthronement in the omnipresent consciousness of Spirit is spoken of as Brahmasthiti, the state of reigning in the Royal Spirit. The Spirit-reigning yogi, freed while living, is never again deluded, nor does he come down to a lesser state. He lives in the consciousness of God. His soul expands into the Spirit, yet he retains his individuality, immersed everlastingly in Spirit-communion. When the yogi is established in the Ethereal Infinitude, even if attained only at the moment when the soul slips from the physical tenement into the astral, that soul enters Brahmanirvana, expansion in Spirit through the extinguishment of ego and all desires that compel a soul to reincarnate. An omnipresent being cannot be caged behind the bars of finite incarnations. He can of his own free will retain a physical or an astral body, but it cannot imprison his overarching spirit.
Thus Krishna tells his disciple Arjuna: “He who forsakes desires for sense enjoyments, is unattached to sense objects, and is devoid of the consciousness of the limited ego, relinquishing its afflictions of ‘me and mine’, receives the lasting joy of God-peace – that permanent blessedness of Spirit-communion spoken of as Brahmasthiti or ‘anchored-in-the-Infinite state’”.
Anyone who tastes this ultimate state of Spirit-union finds all his desires immediately and completely satisfied for all time. He cannot possibly stoop to lesser pleasures, even as a person having access to a store of orange-blossom honey could not crave rancid molasses.
Through his counsel to Arjuna, Krishna tells God-seekers of all eras: “It is worthwhile, this struggle! Attain the final goal! Drink the nectar of Bliss, never flat, never stale, always fresh and new!”
Krishna further says encouragingly that it does not matter when and how man attains this state of finality; that if a devotee is successful, even at the very moment preceding death, in acquiring the all-blessed state (through his past, continuous, ever-increasing meditative efforts), he will certainly never again be parted from that Spirit-Blessedness.
Unsatisfied desires at the time of death are the cause of reincarnation. The man who still roams in the wilderness of matter, seeking the temporary blossoms of pleasures, works out his mortal desires by reincarnation; desireless, he finally enters the perfection of Spirit. Krishna advises the devotee to keep on working for this state of emancipation, even up to the moment before death. “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more (will reincarnate no more)”, Jesus assures man*. A soul must attain freedom from earthly desires and egoity before death in order to escape from the merry-go-round wheel of births and deaths. If this freedom is not attained before physical death one has to incarnate again on earth. For man to tarry in ignorance is stupid unwholesome, fraught with untold miseries; one can never tell into what abysmal troubles his ego and unsatisfied mundane desires may lead him.
Strive ceaselessly; never be impatient. Once the finality is achieved, incarnations of troubles will be over in a second, just as when light is admitted within a room that has been locked for decades, the darkness vanishes instantly.
Aum, Tat, Sat.
In the Upanishad of the holy Bhagavad Gita – the discourse of Lord Krishna to Arjuna, which is the scripture of yoga and the science of God-realization – this is the second chapter, called “Sankhya-Yoga”.

Обычный человек не имеет мира. Его мелкий ментальный резервуар постоянно взбалтывается врывающимися чувственными стимулянтами. Беспокойно он проделывает дыры желаний в плотине сознания, рассеивая свои внутренние силы и удовлетворение.
Эта станза была любимой у моего великого учителя, Свами Шри Юктешвара, и часто цитировалась им. Он испытывал новое преображение, встающее из его обширного внутреннего океана мира (бесконечного моря, информируемого и питаемого втекающими и преобразующимися реками всех материальных желаний); затем он выражал звучным голосом реализации, свои внутренние переживания. Все лицо его сияло великим внутренним светом. В такие минуты, окружающие, кто был духовно чувствителен, могли переживать переливающееся в них чувство духовного мира моего Учителя, передаваемое им. Я часто слышу внутри цитируемый им этот стих Гиты на Санскрите, как бывало в годы давно ушедшие.
Когда воды из резервуара внутреннего мира просачиваются вовне через многие дыры маленьких желаний, те ручейки жадно впитываются пустынной почвой материальных восприятий. Вскоре резервуар и пустыня становятся одинаково сухие!
Не подобное маленькому резервуару, море обширно и постоянно пополняется реками, втекающими в него. Море также и глубоко; его могучее сердце кажется спокойным и недвижимым.
Но такой прилив, в движении, кажется спящим,
Слишком полным для звука и пены...*
В человеке духовного мира, душа является морем удовлетворенности, в котором купается все его сознание. Вместо потери того мира в направлении маленьких страстей, он впитывает в себя все реки желаний, удерживая этим свое спокойное море наполненным до краев!
В противоположность этому, человек с маленьким резервуаром мира, вместо увеличения его посредством самоконтроля и медитации, позволяющий водам вытекать через тысячи каналов вредных желаний, вскоре теряет все свое удовлетворение.
Поэтому совет Гиты: Не опустошай насухо свой резервуар мира, направляя его воды в каналы маленьких, но вечно растущих желаний. Настоящий ученик желает меньше и меньше, и находит больше и больше удовлетворения в море своей души.
Этот совет не означает, что человек должен оставить хорошие стремления, как например помощь другим в Богопознании. Из-за благородных желаний ученик не теряет своего мира, который усиливается из-за раздачи! Этот парадокс подобен словам Иисуса: «Имеющему да воздастся, и он пребудет в изобилии; а у неимущего да отнимется даже то, что он имеет”.* В духовной жизни дарение есть приобретение.
Желание давать радость другим и внешняя активность в даровании мира другим приносит ученику воздаяние большего мира и радости. Но удовлетворение любого эгоистического желания оставляет ученика беднее.
Позволение душевному миру растекаться вовне через каналы вредных желаний - плохо, но укрепление души духовными амбициями, дающими радость, - хорошо.
Каждый должен стараться стать океаном мира, посредством направления вовнутрь рек радости от экстаза с Богом и ассоциации с хорошими людьми, изучения писаний, неэгоистических действий и вскармливания духовных желаний и амбиций. Внутренний пласт человеческого сознания должен вырабатываться глубже и глубже землечерпалкой серьезной медитации, чтобы поступающие радости других и их добродетели, а также реки всех других источников добра, могли найти просторную резиденцию.
Божий человек постоянен и неизменен в своих радостях, подобный широкому и глубокому океану. Его ментальный резервуар расширился, став морем божественного Я. Он привлекает реки добра в других душах втекать в его существо, все в конечном итоге сосуществующие в Вечном Море Бога.
Стих 71
Достигает духовного мира тот, кто отказывается от всех желаний, живет без страстей и не отождествляется со смертным эго и его чувством “моё”.
Кто путешествует по земле, освободившись от принуждений прошлых желаний, и кто остается неприступным для нападений новых страстей, не являясь рабом для грубого эгоистического сознания “я” и “мое”, является совершенно

свободным от рабства. Волшебной флейтой своей души он зачаровывает мир внутри него следовать за ним, куда бы он не направлялся.
Эта формула мира, данная в настоящей станзе Бхагавад Гиты, часто цитируется совершенными отреченными и монахами, чьи аскетические жизни свободны от мирских обязанностей. Отшельник стремится к миру, уменьшая телесные заботы и отказываясь от мирских обладаний, а также держа поле своего ума в огне мудрых мыслей, чтобы никакие семена материальных желаний не могли укорениться. Совершенным отречением он отсекает все связи с личностным или человеческим эго с его желаниями временных обладаний.
Мир является первым продуктом свободы от всех желаний. Когда человек умирает, не отбросив все желания, он остается привязанным к воплощению на земле. Поэтому отреченный не только оставляет злые желания, глубоко запутывающие душу в ненасытных сетях чувственных объектов, но также прощается со всеми личными хорошими желаниями, так как те могут тоже захватить его в земные страсти. (Благородные наклонности и духовные амбиции, свободные от эгоистических интересов и мотивированные лишь желанием ублажить Бога, суть желания без желаний, и не имеют опутывающих последствий.)
В оставлении прошлых желаний, чтобы они не распространились, как метастазы рака, и в конце концов не удушили его душевный мир, отреченный препятствует росту всех возможных новых желаний, посредством надлежащих мыслей, действий и окружения. Он соблюдает вечную бдительность, поддерживая постоянно священное пламя мудрости. Он также учится отделять свою душу от эго, единственному абсолютному средству иммунитета от иллюзии. Тот, кто может, по воле, отсоединить свой ум от тела, понимает разницу между чистой душой, сделанной по образу и подобию Бога, и душой в рабстве телесном – эго.
Царь спал на постели из золота в государственном замке, и ему снилось, что он нищий. Он крикнул: «Пожалуйста, дайте мне копеечку, дайте мне копеечку – я – голодный нищий”. Когда царица разбудила его, он сел, освобожденный от иллюзий своего сна, удивляясь их абсурдности.
Царственная душа, совершенный образ всемогущего Духа, подобно этому, спит в невежестве, ему снятся сны, что он бедный смертный с несчастьями и ограничениями. Когда, благодаря медитации, это ложное телесное сознание исчезает, душа понимает свое собственное положение принца - сына Царя Вселенной.
Отреченный и мудрец, поэтому, упражняются не отождествлять трансцендентное Я со смертным эго и его творящими перевоплдощения желаниями. Свободный от эго и его несчастий и привязанностей к земному существованию, человек наследует вечный мир, принадлежащий ему по праву рождения.
Философия в этой станзе, как отмечено, особенно применима к жизни отреченного, человека мудрости, который сжёг почти все корни желаний этой жизни и прошлых, и естественно склонного к оставлению обычных человеческих стремлений и владений.
Но современному домохозяину, желающему осуществлять мирские обязанности и также найти Бога, Бхагавад Гита дает иной совет в Главе III посвященной Карма Йоге, где Кришна учит, что отказывающийся от действия не есть ни отреченный, ни йог, единый с Богом; простым оставлением действия никто не достигает совершенства и состояния бездействия. Относительно этого мой гуру говорил мне, незадолго до того,как я сделался монахом ордена Свами: “Тот, кто оставляет обычные мирские обязанности, может оправдаться лишь принимая ответственность за большую семью”. Оба, отреченный и домохозяин, должны учиться быть полностью активными, но без желания плодов действий.
Любой, кто отказывается от плодов действия и действует только для Бога, является человеком отречения и йогом. Он есть отреченный, потому что оставляет желание выгоды от своих действий; он также и йог, соединенный с Богом, потому что трудится только, чтобы ублажить Его.
Ученик может уделять внимание своему здоровью, своей семье, бизнесу, и при этом быть отреченным внутри. Он говорит себе: “Я не создавал этого тела или этого мира. Поэтому, зачем мне привязанность к ним? Я исполняю свои материальные обязанности по отношению к моей семье и другим, потому что Бог дал мне те задания. Я буду медитировать глубоко и играть эту временную роль только, чтобы доставить Ему удовольствие”. Такой человек внутреннего отречения также является и йогом, потому что он всегда движется в направлении единства с Богом посредством, как медитации, так и правильного действия.
Таким образом, будучи в миру, но не от мира, человек может обрести покой. Это трудно, но может быть достигнуто железной волей. Путь внешнего отречения, полное устранение от земных сцен материального беспокойства, отбрасывая страсти постоянным различением и удалением от объектов искушения, подходит природе немногих избранных учеников.
Йог-домохозяин, двигающийся среди чувственных объектов, должен освободить себя от внутренних желаний, являющихся более реальной причиной рабства, посравнению с искушениями внешнего мира. Отреченный должен удалиться от связей внешних джунглей материальных объектов и также освободиться от внутренних страстей по объектам, им оставленным. И только тогда – в миру или в лесном уединении, домохозяином или отшельником – человек может обрести духовный мир.
Работая в миру или сидя молчаливо в лесу, йог должен иметь единственную цель – приобретение утерянного мира души и душевного отождествления с Духом. Тот, кто совершенно лишен желаний и эгоизма, реализовал эту цель.
Стих 72
О Партха (Арджуна)! Таков “установившийся в Брахмане”. Кто бы не вошел в это состояние, никогда больше не обманывается. Даже в самый момент перехода (от физического к астральному), если человек встает там на якорь, он обретает окончательное, неотторжимое состояние Духовного-общения.
Восшествие на престол в Вездесущем сознании Духа называется Брахмастхити, состояние правления в Царском Духе. Духовно-правящий йог, освобожденный при жизни, никогда больше не обманывается и не опускается до менее значительного состояния. Он живет в Богосознании. Его душа расширяется в Дух, и всеже он сохраняет свою индивидуальность, вступившую в вечное общение с Богом. Когда йог устанавливается в Эфирной Бесконечности, даже если достигнутой лишь в момент перехода души из физической обители в астральную, его душа входит в Брахманирвану, расширение в Духе через затухание эго и всех желаний, принуждающих душу перевоплощаться. Вездесущее существо не может быть посажено в клетку за решеткой ограниченных воплощений. Он может по собственной воле сохранять физическое или астральное тело, но это не может держать в заточении его трансцендирующий Дух.
Так, Кришна говорит своему ученику Арджуне: “Тот, кто отказывается от желаний чувственных наслаждений, непривязан к чувственным объектам и отделен от сознания ограниченного эго, оставляя его несчастья “самости” получает длящуюся радость Божьего мира – то постоянное блаженство Духовного общения, называемого Брахмастхити, или «состояние стоянки на якоре в Бесконечном»”.
Любой, вкушающий это конечное состояние Духовного единения, немедленно полностью удовлетворяет все свои желания на все времена. Для него невозможно вернуться к меньшим наслаждениям, подобно тому как человек, имеющий доступ к золотистому меду, не может желать черной патоки.
Через этот совет Арджуне, Кришна говорит Богоискателям всех времен: “Эта борьба стоит усилий! Достигайте конечной цели! Пейте нектар Блаженства, никогда не скучный, не несвежий, всегда новый!”
Кришна далее подбадривает так, что не имеет значения, как и когда человек достигает этого конечного состояния; что, если ученик успешен в достижении этого все-блаженного состояния (посредством его прошлых, продолжительных, постоянно-увеличивающихся медитативных усилий), даже в самый момент, предшествовавший смерти, он определенно никогда больше не отпадет от того Духовного-Блаженства.
Неудовлетворенные желания во время смерти являются причиной перевоплощения. Человек, все еще скитающийся в пустыне материи, ища временные цветы наслаждений, вырабатывает свои смертные желания посредством перевоплощения; когда же лишен желаний, он в конце концов входит в совершенство Духа. Кришна советует ученику продолжать работать для этого состояния освобождения, даже до самого момента перед смертью. “Побеждающего я сделаю столпом во храме Бога моего, и он более не выйдет прочь”, - обещает Иисус*. What do organizations use conflict management for?
For any organization to be effective and efficient in achieving its goals, the people in the organization need to have a shared vision of what they are striving to achieve, as well as clear objectives for each team / department and individual. You also need ways of recognizing and resolving conflict amongst people, so that conflict does not become so serious that co-operation is impossible. All members of any organization need to have ways of keeping conflict to a minimum - and of solving problems caused by conflict, before conflict becomes a major obstacle to your work. This could happen to any organization, whether it is an NGO, a CBO, a political party, a business or a government.
Conflict management is the process of planning to avoid conflict where possible and organizing to resolve conflict where it does happen, as rapidly and smoothly as possible.
Important things to know about "conflict" and "conflict management":
The differences between "competition" and "conflict"
"Competition" usually brings out the best in people, as they strive to be top in their field, whether in sport, community affairs, politics or work. In fact, fair and friendly competition often leads to new sporting achievements, scientific inventions or outstanding effort in solving a community problem. When competition becomes unfriendly or bitter, though, conflict can begin - and this can bring out the worst in people.
Common causes of conflict
Causes or sources of organizational conflict can be many and varied. The most common causes are the following:
-Scarcity of resources (finance, equipment, facilities, etc)
-Different attitudes, values or perceptions
-Disagreements about needs, goals, priorities and interests
-Poor communication
-Poor or inadequate organizational structure
-Lack of teamwork
-Lack of clarity in roles and responsibilities
Conflict between individual
People have differing styles of communication, ambitions, political or religious views and different cultural backgrounds. In our diverse society, the possibility of these differences leading to conflict between individuals is always there, and we must be alert to preventing and resolving situations where conflict arises.
Conflict between groups of people
Whenever people form groups, they tend to emphasize the things that make their group "better than" or "different from" other groups. This happens in the fields of sport, culture, religion and the workplace and can sometimes change from healthy competition to destructive conflict.
Conflict within a group of people
Even within one organization or team, conflict can arise from the individual differences or ambitions mentioned earlier; or from rivalry between sub-groups or factions. All leaders and members of the organization need to be alert to group dynamics that can spill over into conflict.
