Cheorwon, located at the center of Korea, used to be the capital of an ancient kingdom, Taebongguk, founded by the king Gungye. As the cradle of prehistoric culture, this area, is also the birthplace and the thousand-year old capital of the kingdom, Goryo dynasty, and a place of deep history having produced numerous heritages of nation-protecting spirit, and preeminent figures throughout the history.
