Да, всё вокруг казалось прекрасным, жизнь дарила одну удачу за другой. Все они были заслужены и неизбежны, а главное, предвещали, что-то ещё более важное и значимое в недалёком будущем. Это ему не казалось, он это знал наверняка. Джон только что вышел из Разведуправления. Он оставил свой Hammer дома и приехал сюда, вместе с отцом на его машине, чтобы после, прогуливаясь пешком, всё хорошенько обдумать в спокойной обстановке. Everything all round seemed wonderful, the life was granting him one luck after another. They were all deserved and inevitable, and above all, they were betokening something even more important and significant in his near future. It wasn't a dream, but he knew it for sure. John had just gone out of the Reconnaissance Administration building. He had left his Hammer at home and came here together with his father on his car, so that later to have a chance to carefully think everything over in a calm atmosphere while walking. Although he had a prior conversation with his father about a possible assignment in future with its prospects and troubles, John knew that he would always have a right to decline an offer. He had a right to choose. He was sure that everybody could have this kind of chance and that it wasn't just a privilege for him, John Messenger junior, the son and grandson of the two distinguished generals of the United States, having a great influence in those narrow circles of intelligence services, that were used to frighten peoples, and nowadays not only in the East. John had a chance to make a choice himself and he had done it. He couldn't select a different decision. There were a few reasons for it. First of all, he was part of his family. The spirit of Messengers family had drenched not only throughout all his childhood, but throughout the whole lifestyle at his home, where he had the honor to be born, the name and fame of which he was ought to multiply. There couldn't be mentioned of anything else, and John had imbibed it with his mother's milk. Second of all, it was a good prospect of making a career. The question was about fulfilling important tasks for intelligent services administration in real field conditions and not less than that. And according to his father's words he had been selected for these purposes as a result of tough selection without appliance of any patronage.

Source text - English George Bush signed an economic stimulus package that will supply $168 billion—$152 billion of it this spring. The measure forms part of a government endeavor to stave off a recession in America. It ensures that rebates of up to $1,200 will be posted to households and also provides businesses with new tax breaks. Earlier, Hank Paulson, the treasury secretary, announced another initiative to help struggling homeowners by placing a 30-day freeze on certain kinds of foreclosures. RealtyTrac, an online property firm, said that foreclosures in America's largest urban areas rose by 78% last year, to 1.8m.
But should that option be exercised? Skeptical economists argue that counter-cyclical stimulus often does more harm than good. Politicians traditionally fail to recognize recessions in time, and then take too long to enact stimulus. By the time tax cuts and spending increases arrive, the downturn is often over, and the extra stimulus simply adds inflationary pressure. Moreover, since politicians are usually unwilling to tighten fiscal policy enough in a boom, any loosening of the budget reins tends to result in permanently higher debt. Others argue that temporary stimulus, even if well timed, will not work because people will hardly adjust their spending in response to a one-off tax cut.

Source text - Russian В отличие от других органов, которые работают в теплом и влажном уюте внутренней среды организма, кожа расположена на границе внешней и внутренней среды. А значит, одна часть ее обращена внутрь организма (и пользуется всеми преимуществами этого расположения), а другая — испытывает все превратности существования во внешнем мире. При этом коже приходится решать две главные задачи — защитить от воздействия внешней среды себя (в том числе ту часть, которая обращена внутрь организма), а заодно прикрыть, словно щитом, все остальные органы. Помимо этого на кожу возложено много других функций, которые она умудряется выполнять: контролировать испарение влаги из тела, сохранять тепло и предотвращать перегрев, осязать, участвовать в передаче “электрических токов любви”, выдерживать удары и растяжения, выводить из организма часть вредных веществ и т.д. Казалось бы, ожидать от такого рабочего органа красоты все равно, что требовать, чтобы многодетная мать, занятая на двух работах, выглядела как фотомодель. Однако кожа весьма часто (по крайней мере, у молодых созданий) умудряется быть красивой, привлекая взоры и воспламеняя сердца. Как же она справляется со своими задачами?
Translation - English Unlike other organs that work within our body's internal warmth and dampness, our skin is on the border between internal and external environments. It means that it is situated partly inwards (and enjoys all the advantages of such location) while its other part has to bear all the difficulties of living in the outer world. It means that the skin has to solve two main problems: protecting itself from the effects of the external environment (including the zone located inside the organism) and provide a shield-like cover for the rest of the organs. Besides, the skin has many other functions that it somehow manages to perform, namely: control evaporation process, keep us warm and prevent overheating, touch, serve to conduct "currents of love", sustain hits and distortions, partly remove harmful substances from your body, etc. One might think that expecting such a hard-working organ to be beautiful is the same as expecting model-like looks of a mother with many children who combines two jobs. But it quite often happens that the skin (at least, young skin) does look beautiful, attracting attention and setting hearts on fire. How does it manage to do so?
