Source text - English 2.1 Irritable bowel syndrome
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common functional disorder. A functional disorder means there is a problem with the function of a part of the body, but there is no abnormality in the structure (the function of the gut is upset, but all parts of the gut look normal, even when looked at under a microscope. The cause is not known. Symptoms can be quite variable and include abdominal pain, bloating, and sometimes bouts of diarrhoea and/or constipation. Symptoms tend to ‘come and go’. There is no ‘cure’ for IBS, but symptoms can often be eased with treatment.
The aim of this study is to collect information on effect of on the symptoms of patients suffering from irritable bowel syndrome, and on its safety. is a medication that combines two active ingredients: one is a component that has an action on intestinal motility and sensitivity, and the other is an inert substance with anti-foam action which facilitates gas bubble elimination. Together, they help to relieve symptoms such as pain and abdominal discomfort related to the presence of gas that can exist in several intestinal disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome.
The study medication is a generally safe product. Some very rare adverse events have been reported, allergic type reactions such as urticaria, facial oedema or hypotension, and liver function tests abnormalities. These events affect one out of 250,000 or 300,000 people that take the drug, and they disappear when the treatment is discontinued. No fatal reactions or permanent disabilities have been reported. It is possible that these adverse events are at least partly due to the colouring agents in capsules. The use of these colouring agents was discontinued two years ago. Since then, the number of adverse reactions appears to have decreased. This is why the capsules you will be given are not coloured. There is no other risk known with .
There is no guarantee that the treatment will be active on your disease. However, the study medication may help to relieve your symptoms or improve the condition of your disease.
Participating in research may result in injury, since the risk of side effects is present. In the case of any damage resulting from the participation in this study directly related to the drug tested and/or to the procedures required by the protocol, your study doctor is responsible for ensuring that an appropriate method of treatment is provided. If such a situation occurs, the sponsor of this study will cover the entire cost of treatment. The terms of paying damages as well as amount of compensation, will be established in compliance with the local law, if participation in this study causes any lasting disability. Sponsor will not compensate you if your injury results from a procedure that is not described in the study protocol. You will not lose any legal rights as a research subject by signing this consent form.

Zespół jelita drażliwego (IBS) jest przewlekłym zaburzeniem czynnościowym jelita. Zaburzenie czynnościowe jelita oznacza, iż istnieje problem związany z funkcjami danej części ciała, jednak nie ma nieprawidłowości w strukturze narządu (funkcje jelita są rozstrojone, ale wszystkie jego części wyglądają normalnie, nawet pod mikroskopem). Przyczyna zaburzeń jest nieznana. Symptomy choroby mogą być zmienne i charakteryzują się bólami brzucha, wzdęciami i czasem nagłymi atakami biegunki i/lub zaparcia. Objawy choroby pojawiają się i znikają, po czym następuje nawrót symptomów. Lekarstwo na tę chorobę nie istniej, jednak objawy mogą być łagodzone poprzez poddanie się leczeniu.
Badanie to ma na celu zgromadzenie informacji o skuteczności na objawy pacjentów cierpiących na zespół jelita drażliwego, jak również zebranie informacji o bezpieczeństwie pacjentów zażywających lek. to lek, który łączy dwa składniki: jeden z nich działa na ruchliwość i wrażliwość jelita, drugi zaś jest substancją bierną, wywołującą działanie antypiankowe, które ułatwia eliminację pęcherzyków z gazem. Składniki te pomagają złagodzić objawy choroby tj. ból i dolegliwości brzuszne związane z obecnością gazu, który może pojawić się kilku rodzajach zaburzeń jelita, w tym w zespole jelita drażliwego.
Badany lek jest ogólnie produktem bezpiecznym. Jednak zgłaszane były niektóre, rzadko pojawiające się, efekty niepożądane. Należą do nich: reakcje alergiczne takie jak pokrzywka, obrzęk twarzy lub nadciśnienie i zaburzenia funkcji wątroby. Efekty niepożądane dotykają jedną na 250.000 lub 300.000 osób przyjmujących lek i znikają po zaprzestaniu leczenia. Nie zgłoszono żadnych przypadków śmiertelnych bądź stałych upośledzeń. Istnieje możliwość, że efekty niepożądane, przynajmniej po części, spowodowane są środkami koloryzującymi w kapsułkach. Użycia środków koloryzujących zaprzestano dwa lata temu. Od tego czasu ilość reakcji niepożądanych znacznie spadła. Dlatego też pacjentom zostaną podane kapsułki niezawierające środków koloryzujących. Inne zagrożenia nie są znane.
Nie ma gwarancji, że leczenie to podziała na chorobę pacjenta. Jednakże testowany lek może pomóc w złagodzeniu objawów lub poprawić stan ogólny choroby.
Udział w badaniu może spowodować różnego rodzaju urazy, gdyż istnieje ryzyko pojawienia się efektów niepożądanych. Na wypadek jakichkolwiek urazów wynikających z wzięcia udziału w badaniu medycznym, które jest bezpośrednio związane z testowanym lekiem i/lub procedurami zawartymi w protokole, lekarz prowadzący jest odpowiedzialny za zapewnienie pacjentowi odpowiedniej metody leczenia. Jeżeli taka sytuacja będzie miała miejsce, sponsor badania pokryje wszystkie koszty leczenia pacjenta. Jeżeli badanie będzie przyczyną trwałego kalectwa, warunki opłat za szkody incydentalne jak i kwoty odszkodowań zostaną określone zgodnie z panującym prawem lokalnym. Sponsor badania nie wypłaci odszkodowań, jeśli wynikłe urazy nie są opisane w protokole badania naukowego. Pacjent, jako podmiot badania, nie traci przysługujących mu praw podpisując ten formularz.
