This is a large mine, where thermal anthracite is mined from depth in excess of 1,000 m. Current output of this mine is in the range of 2.3 million tons per year, with production equaling capacity. The output of the mine is planned to increase by 25% over the next 8 years (by 2020).
Positive aspects of the mine include:
- Virtual lack of methane release in the mine
- Presence of 2 independent skip hoist motors
- Installation of redundant pumping capacity
- Non-combustible and mostly even fire resistive construction for above ground buildings
- Extraction of waste air from 2 shafts and redundant ventilation capacity is installed in each of the ventilation shafts
On the negative side, there are the lack of a fixed methane detection system, poor condition of fire water network (below ground as well as above ground), lack of use of modern technology for electrical and mechanical maintenance, total dependence from the regional electrical supplier and routing of electrical supply to the mine through a single shaft.

The Federal Reserve says it will keep buying bonds until the labor market has “improved substantially,” without defining the phrase. Officials may have adopted a threshold nevertheless, say two former Fed economists.
Chairman Ben S. Bernanke needs to see four months of job growth averaging at least 200,000 to justify reducing the pace of asset purchases, according to Vincent Reinhart, a former director of the Fed’s Division of Monetary Affairs. Roberto Perli, a former researcher in the division, said the central bank would need to see that pace “through the summer.”
“They would see that as confirmation that the economy is on a self-sustaining trajectory and they would thus be confident that they could reduce the pace” of quantitative easing, said Perli, a partner at Cornerstone Macro LP in Washington.
The figure helps provide clarity as investors seek to determine when the Fed will start to pare back the $85 billion in monthly bond purchases that kept borrowing costs low and fueled a stock-market rally. Yields on 10-year Treasury notes are near a one-year high on speculation tapering is imminent.
The May payrolls increase fell short of 200,000. The Labor Department said today that payrolls rose 175,000 last month, while April’s gain was revised lower to 149,000. The jobless rate rose to 7.6 percent from 7.5 percent as more people entered the workforce.

Source text - English PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
A hydraulic rock grapple is an articulated arm assembly with a hydraulic grapple (claw) mounted at the end. The hydraulic grapple is used to move oversize ore that is blocking the flow of ore through downstream equipment such as crushers, screens, and chutes.
The unit is mounted on a fixed pedestal and can swing to either side through a significant arc (for example, 280 degrees).
The swing drive is used solely for positioning the grapple. The articulated arm assembly consists of three main components: the boom, the stick, and the grapple. The boom is used to raise and lower the stick and grapple as needed. The stick is used to position the grapple above the rock to be moved. Finally, the grapple is used to secure the oversize ore in its claw while the ore is being moved to the desired location.
The operator controls the movement of the boom, stick, and grapple components using levers that are mounted on a control panel. All functions of the rock grapple are operated hydraulically. A hydraulic motor swings the boom in either direction. The boom is raised and lowered by a pair of hydraulic cylinders. A hydraulic cylinder positions the stick, and another hydraulic cylinder positions the grapple. The grapple is hydraulically powered for rotation of the grapple, and two hydraulic cylinders are used to open and close the jaws.
Do not use the grapple rotation or boom swing drive power for pushing ore sideways; otherwise, damage to the rock grapple unit may result.

Гидравлический грейферный погрузчик породы — это шарнирный рычаг с гидравлическим грейфером (захватом клешневого типа) на конце. Гидравлический грейфер используется для удаления негабаритных кусков руды, мешающих перемещению потока руды через обогатительное оборудование (дробилки, грохоты и желоба).
Погрузчик установлен на неподвижном основании и может поворачиваться вокруг своей оси на 280 градусов.
Привод поворота используется исключительно для перемещения грейфера. Рабочий орган состоит из трех основных частей: стрелы, балки и грейфера. Стрела служит для вертикального перемещения балки и грейфера. Балка служит для размещения грейфера над куском руды, который нужно убрать. Затем грейфер захватывает клешнями негабаритный кусок и перемещает его в нужное место.
Управление стрелой, балкой и грейфером осуществляется оператором с помощью рычагов, расположенных на панели управления. Для работы всех частей погрузчика используется гидравлическая энергия. Для горизонтального перемещения стрелы используется гидравлический двигатель, а для вертикального — пара гидравлических цилиндров.
