Source text - English Most clinicians also agree on the biomechanical characteristics of disc degeneration: in the early stages of the degenerative cascade, in which the overall disc height is relatively preserved (less than 50% loss of height), the disc exhibits hypermobility. Decreased passive resistance to flexion seen at the diseased segment is thus associated with pain on flexion in presenting patients. Flexion and extension are known to change the mechanical loading pattern at a lumbar segment. When the segment is in extension (the standing position), the axial loads borne by the segment are shared by the disc and the facet joints (in a healthy spine, approximately 30% of the load is borne by the facet joints). In flexion, however, the segmental load is borne almost entirely by the disc. Furthermore, when the segment is in flexion, the nucleus shifts posteriorly, changing the loads on the posterior portion of the annulus (which is innervated), likely causing its fibers to be subject to tension and shear forces. Segmental flexion, then, both increases the loads borne by the disc and causes them to be borne in a more painful way.

I am a veterinarian, a medical writer and a translator especially focused on the pharmaceutical area. My first language is Korean and English is the source language for majority of my translation works. English to Korean translation is also possible. General health, medical topics including veterinary medicine, zoology, or non-fiction journals other than pharmaceutical stuffs are all of my specialties. I have been a full time in-house translator and a medical writer for more than 5 years (March 2004 ~September 2009) at LG Life Sciences. I have initiated my freelance career as a medical writer and a translator after leaving LG Life Sciences. From January of 2010, I also have worked for Mundipharma YH as a part-time medical writer for six months.
I have ample of experiences in the field of clinical trial as a project manager and a medical writer. I am an experienced medical writer having done many clinical reports, protocols and regulatory documents and fully acquainted with the current guidelines required in the clinical trial such as KGCP, ICH guidelines, CONSORT statement and GPP.
