Garbage
Review by
NicolaiM . I made the mistake of purchasing this garbage. I will surely never use it, because just about every other CAT Tool on the market is much more powerful. I would rather use my old Trados 2007 than this. Trying this tool felt like going back in time. It may be one of the cheapest tools on the market, but there's a good reason for that - they couldn't sell it otherwise! Also, it is full of bugs to which their are constant updates and bux fixes. It still doesnt work, and doesnt do what it promises. They should scrap the entire project. Remember and beware - you get what you pay for!

Lost one important client because of Fluency
Review by
Daniel Grigoras . Back when Fluency was my first and only CAT tool, I used to have a client for which I was translating dead PDFs (i.e. scanned documents converted into PDF). The process involved doing the OCR and DTP, which were done by myself, and then importing the documents into Fluency. At one point Fluency was unable to import some of the larger and more complex documents. I later found out that that was due to the so-called rogue/junk hidden tags that are usually present throughout MS documents as a result of OCR and DTP. I also encountered numerous bugs.
Fluency 2011 even stopped working after I suffered a power outage. When I restarted the computer it wouldn't run any more. I had to finally resort to uninstalling and reinstalling it. It was deadline day, and I got the power outage just a couple of hours before delivery.

I also encountered numerous bugs. Nonetheless, the support and updates are quite fast. You report a bug and they would sometimes release a patch for it in a matter of hours. However, there were too many bugs.

Moreover, I dislike the fact that it does not offer a two column view (one for the source text, the other for the target text), which is nonetheless offered by the major CAT tools.

As regards the import and management of very large termbases and translation memories, Fluency is very fast.

Excellent
Review by
Simon Vigneault . I use Fluency Now, and it is simply an excellent tool. The earlier version could have trouble with large files, but with the function for stripping files down to text only that problem has been solved. The multiple, adjustable windows are a huge help. Very efficient. I have always found software help to be very quick, efficient, and courteous. They are always making updated improvements available, often in response to feedback.
