G'day everyone
I'm quite interested in many of the paid video's currently available on ProZ.com, but I don't want to spend money on something that I did not see. I therefore suggest that ProZ.com allows a preview of the videos, either as a 2 minute or 5 minute video of any portion of the video (preferred), or as a series of 5-10 screenshots (not ideal at all) from the video. Longer descriptions would also be nice (e.g. a table of contents, so to speak).
Samuel

Probably 5 minutes would be reasonable minimum as the first few minutes usually contain introduction and is not very representative for the entire video.

Limitation of our current player

Thanks Sam - glad you're interested in the video training options.

This is definitely on our list of project improvements.

Preview does not have to be dynamic

Why not simply create short 5-minute versions of the videos and place a download link to the video file on the video's page? That would require no change in your architecture whatsoever.
An alternative to the video preview is to provide a 5-minute audio preview, which can also be a downloadable file (the user's browser will launch the associated player if there is one).
