Good morning,

I am hoping that someone can help me with something, that should seem to be a simple task, but I just don't know how to do it.

I have purchased a new PC and installed everything I need for my work. Only my freelance version (8.0) of Trados remain to be moved from the old PC to this new one. Could someone please answer the following questions for me:

Good morning,

I am hoping that someone can help me with something, that should seem to be a simple task, but I just don't know how to do it.

I have purchased a new PC and installed everything I need for my work. Only my freelance version (8.0) of Trados remain to be moved from the old PC to this new one. Could someone please answer the following questions for me:

a) Which program file(s) should I move/copy to the new PC?

b) How do I install the software on the new PC?

I have already searched for an answer in this forum, but I cannot find any topic that describes the process exactly. All I could see is that apparenty I must ask Trados Support for a new license file.

Please bear with my lack of knowledge in this area!

Thank you very much in advance,

Hanne

you need to return licence and copy files Jun 21, 2012

You need to return licence - for that you use program Licence manager, and than you need to copy termbases and translation memories to the new machine and after installation of trados on your new machine you need to activate returned licence.

Good luck

The actual installation file? Jun 22, 2012

Thank you Stanislaw. There should be no problem copying termbases and memories, but surely that will not install the software (move it) on the new computer?

I will look into returning the licens through the license manager.

Other inputs will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hanne

The installation software... Jun 22, 2012

... for your version of the software will be in your "My Account". So if you have not got this anymore you can download it from your "My Account" and install it onto your new computer.

Regards

Paul
