I often try to use my tablet (Ipad2) to answer other translators' questions. Tablet is an ideal instrument to do that for me, as I can use, or I could, use the "non-productive" time in order to try and help other translators. Unfortunatelly, the interface of Proz hardly allows that, when I try to "roll down" the "Answer" something ( I don't know how to call it even in my mother tongue - Polish). Unfortunatelly, the interface of Proz hardly allows that, when I try to "roll down" the "Answer" something ( I don't know how to call it even in my mother tongue - Polish). Only seldom I manage to click with my finger on "Answer" fast enough, before the whole "rolling down menu" disappears, which is very frustrating - I assume there is some kind of script that makes it function like that. Would it be possible to establish an Ipad friendly version of this menu? I strongly suspect that many other translators using Ipads (I dont' know how it works with other types of tablets) would use their free time to help other translators, but are discouraged by this way of working of the Proz site. I think it should be rather easy to change by introducing e.g. an alternative path to the "Answer" area without any java or flash script or any other script (please do forgive me my incompetence in IT, I probably use incorrect terms, but I hope I somehow managed to present that issue in a way understable to everybody. I am strongly convinced that such a simple change would significantly improve the general functioning of the Proz site. If my explanation of the issue is not clear enough, please let me know, I will try to describe my point in another, hopefully, better way.

They need an app Feb 28, 2013

I believe people have called for this before and I vaguely remember the ProZ staff saying that they are looking into it, although it would be nice to get some clarification from them at this stage.

Maybe we should somehow put more pressure on the Proz management? And put this as an idea into the "ideas section"?

Quick fix for Kudoz Feb 28, 2013

The top menu is indeed adjusted to using the mouse and is a nightmare on an Ipad, still as the latest questions are listed on the homepage you can always tap on any question, it will take you to "kudoz layout" and on the left side you'll have a static link called latest questions or sth. similar. When it comes to me, very often I go to a question directly from a notification email but than I need to use Safari.

Cheers
S
