Hi,

I'm in the middle of a document translating, when suddenly all the remaining (still not translated) segments appear confirmed. Why is this, and how do I "unconfirm" them again?

Best regards,

Anders

Same problem here Apr 22, 2013

I am rather glad to see this topic appear.

We have been experiencing this problem sporadically for a couple of months. I have done some fairly in-depth testing and the evidence suggests that it is a random bug.

We have been experiencing this problem sporadically for a couple of months. I have done some fairly in-depth testing and the evidence suggests that it is a random bug.

I opened a test text and went through a series of keystrokes, and the problem occurred (all segments in text marked as confirmed whether translated or not). It seems to occur when confirming a segment - marks all as confirmed except, oddly, the one segment you want to confirm. I then went back and went through the exact same process again, and this time the problem did not occur.

The only workaround we have been able to come up with is the obvious one - click the number of the first untranslated segment marked confirmed, hold down shift, and click the number of the last segment. Then right-click, and change the segment status to "untranslated".

I would really like to submit a support ticket to SDL, as we do have a PSMA, but the fact that we are unable to replicate the error under identical circumstances suggests that they will likely face the same problem.

If anyone monitoring this forum from SDL (Paul, I'm thinking of you here!) has any thoughts, I'd be very interested to hear them.

Autopropagation? Apr 22, 2013

Any chance that it is just autopropagation of repetition?

Cheers

Thanks for your reply Stanislaw,

I am not sure how you mean? It's about forty segments with various content that suddenly all just got checked and confirmed. I have a vague memory that this is a setting that you can choose, but I can't remember where and i don't understand why it appeared voluntarily in this case..

Best regards,

Anders

I've had this Apr 22, 2013

And had always assumed that I had accidentally pressed something... and so I press the undo key until it goes away, which seems to work!

In my opinion this problem has nothing to do with what we press accidentally.

It must be some bug, and a quite annoying one at that.

Let's hope they solve it with the next update...

I am facing the same problem. Sep 9, 2015

It did happen few times before but I always thought that I made a mistake and caused the problem. But now I am working with a quite large file of over 3000 segments and I realized that about 1600 of the segments seem to be confirmed. I checked again and saw that they are not translated. So I changed their segment statuses and continued to work. And after a while, I saw that again these 1600 segments are confirmed

Did you find any solution to overcome / bypass this problem?

I may ignore the problem and learn to live with that. But I don't want to, plus, with such a large and technical file (a patent translation where I need my CAT tool most), it would be rather irrational.

Maybe it is time to switch to another tool

Happened to me more than three times. Jul 20, 2016

It happens specifically when several sdlxliff files are included in package.
I feel SDL Studio seems to be a bit heavy.
