Coffee in the morning, tea in the afternoon, a nice glass of Bordeaux in the evening when finishing up that job that's due first thing the next morning ...

What I drink depends on what time it is. I always start my mornings by drinking a fresh orange and lemon juice, followed by a jasmine tea. Then around 10, I’ll have my first espresso coffee of the day. I usually drink 4 or 5 espressos every day. As I have a tendency to forget to drink water I always have a small water bottle by my desk and I sip a mouthful every now and then. At lunch and dinner, I always drink a glass of Ice Tea.

Multiple studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of caffeine to increase alertness and improve
cognitive performance in sleep-deprived individuals. Energy drinks contain caffeine and sugar, similar to a soft drink, but there are additional nonregulated ingredients that may be present. Manufacturers claim that the energy drinks can improve physical endurance and cognitive performance, but some health experts believe that any noticeable improvement is derived solely from the caffeine and sugar components. The purpose of this study was to lay the groundwork for investigating whether the additional components found in
a common energy beverage will provide a higher degree of subjective and objective alertness in a fatigued individual over that provided by similar doses of caffeine and sugar alone

Enough Mar 4, 2017

Whether water, juice, herbal tea or mixtures of these - I prefer to drink enough, that's the main criterion.

Taking turns Mar 4, 2017

Even though I am an outed coffeeholic, I sometimes like to have some refreshing carbonated mineral water.

The only exception is when it's really cold outside, dark and raining 24/7, then a good cup of hot chocolate with cinnamon cheers me up.

Other Mar 4, 2017

Mornings, freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast, then maybe a coffee later on. In the evenings, I usually have a 0,0 (zero acohol) beer, or several. The rest of the time, if I feel thirsty I usually drink water.

PS: I regard "energy drinks" like Red Bull as toxic sludge, and people who mix them with alcohol, like vodka, as fools.

Coffee and Water Mar 4, 2017

All day long. I make coffee about three times a day (3 x 600 ml bottle, but not only for me, of course), and I drink at least two litters of water per day. Both bottles are always nearby, and the glasses on my desk.

Just pure old lightly carbonated mineral water. One coffee in the morning though
