Getting caught up | Mar 2, 2018 |
When I'm working, I only have time to take care of the most urgent other tasks in my life, while my to-do list grows. When I'm not working, I tackle the list.

Often, my reply would be either studying or reading, but right now there is a rare opportunity to go ice skating on frozen ponds, lakes or flooded areas nearby so I have been trying hard to make sure I can get away early today. After four years with no natural ice, most Dutch people want to make sure they get some skating in while it lasts!

Yes, perhaps I would be walking along the river or nearby. Even if there is much snow now and today it is very cold.

Location: rural part of Northeast England. We've been snowed in since Tuesday evening, and with ever shifting drifts it has not been worth the effort trying to clear the drive. Live on a farm so the drive is at least 50m and rutted. Also doubtful whether the little local road it leads to has been cleared at all. Living in dread that electricity will go off.

What am I doing right now? | Mar 2, 2018 |
I’ve just delivered the only job scheduled for today and now I’m answering this quick poll. Unless something unexpected comes up, I’ll be emptying my laundry basket…

I've got some charity work on my to-do list
If I weren't working, I have a tanker-long list of things I should do before I kick the bucket. I'd probably start with non-work-related admin, replies, paper sorting and form filling piling up on my desk, a chore that I dearly hate with all my heart, even more so when banks and insurance companies are involved. Then I'd go out for about a month on a host of errands to repair this, expedite that, buy this and perform that. Philippe

I put Marketing, because I assume that since Marketing and Invoicing are listed as alternatives to Work, the poll creator actually meant Translating rather than Work. Marketing and Invoicing are an essential part of Work.

I can't choose a single option here. I rest, read, organize my stats or my spreadsheets, look for more jobs, clean, cook, fix, go shopping... And I honestly don't think anyone at all could choose a single option out of this list.
When not working, that's what I usually do. Even if the family time consists in driving my kids to their classes, or eating dinner a bit late, when my husband comes home.
