I know that Polish ProZ community will have its own great event in Krakow on International Translator's Day, Sep. 29, 2007. However, if some of you will be in Lithuania or will just decide to come to Lithuania these days, I should like to invite you to visit our powwow and have a good time with Lithuanian colleagues.

As you may find in powwow website http://www.proz.com/powwow/1654, the headline of this powwow is "Not only at the table..." It is not a secret that our profession takes a great deal of our lives "at the table", i.e. we are always sitting, hardly working, and feeling serious deficiency of physical movement. Not adding anything better to this, our powwows have also been just sitting at some table in café or elsewhere.
So, the idea behind the headline is to have a powwow partially or completely different from all powwows we had so far by getting away from table and taking some entertainment that involves physical movement. Of course, I do not offer to have a football or basketball match, but having fun, e.g. in bowling club would be a fun and truly relaxed and informal atmosphere of meeting.
Although not much time is left, I invite you in any way to register in powwow website, discuss and offer your nice and fun ideas. We will be happy to make a powwow that will satisfy everybody's interests and will be something that will be strongly wanted again immediately after we go back to our homes and works.
Please do not hesitate to ask any questions and offer your brilliant and even craziest ideas in website http://www.proz.com/powwow/1654 and/or via e-mail [email protected].
Another information that may be important to you – we will be able to offer free "bed-and-breakfast" in our homes for some of you. However, please let us know your wishes good time in advance, as space is not limitless.

Perhaps it is too late now.
As you may know, I stand behind the idea of having a powwow in Krakow but I live in the part of Poland that borders Lithuania.
Perhaps with more advance plannning we could set up a two day no border powwow in Sejny and Marijampole or Lazdijai (or a place of your preference) not far from Sejny. I mention Sejny because I know some people there and it would make the whole thing much easier for me.

Thank you for your nice ideas! However, I have a bit different opinion regarding proposed term "no border powwow". As we all know, 5-kilometer long queues of cars at Polish-Lithuanian border became a history long time ago. Now we share same economic territory, other areas of life are or will also be shared very soon. So, we can say we already have no border in sense it was before!

If you come now or in the future to Lithuanian powwow (or we come to Polish powwow) it will in fact become a no border powwow. No special arrangements are necessary to emphasize this idea, because we are always naturally happy to meet our colleagues from any spot of the world!
And, SzIwonka, it is never too late to learn piano.
I believe, you will have a great event in Krakow, and I encourage all your colleagues to visit Polish powwow. However, sometimes it is also good (and worth!) to do something different, not traditional – my own good experience! If some of you think likewise, our invitation and suggestions are still valid, and will be until we go back to our homes after the powwow in Klaipėda!

Some colleagues are going from Vilnius, Kaunas, and other mid-Lithuania regions on Saturday, Sep. 29, most likely before noon. So, if you find your own way to any of these regions, you will be given a lift further way. Same is about return travel on Sunday. For more questions and arrangements, please contact me directly on [email protected].
Of course, it would be perfect if more Polish colleagues decide to go and you get at least one full car down to Klaipėda.
How often do you organize powwows in Lithuania?
Usually, we have one powwow per year (usually, in September). However, this year we are exploding with two simultaneously in different locations!

If anybody is interested in Klaipeda powwow, I just want to let you know I will be driving from Vilnius to Klaipeda before noon on Saturday, and back to Vilnius before noon on Sunday.
I will be going alone, so you are very welcome. If Kaunas is a more convenient option, no problem.
