MAC users can joinJan 3, 2011

The webinar software is compatible with both MAC and PC so you will have no problems attending and following along. The instructor will be demonstrating Trados, on a PC, and as best I can tell, most using Trados on a MAC do so with a virtual PC or emulator, so the software's steps and functions should not be different than how you would use it on a MAC, when using in windows emulator or virtual PC mode.

Hope this helps

Drew

About WordfastJan 3, 2011

Furthermore and to complete Drew's message, I would like to add that both WF Classic and WF Pro work on Mac computers.

WF Pro is a Java-based standalone application, while the MS Word macros set of WF Classic will work with every Word:mac version featuring VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)*.

One only needs to download the platform-specific version on Wordfast's site.

AFAIK, the main differences between Windows and Mac machines are the keyboard shortcuts.

* Word:mac 2008 doesn't come with VBA.

Wordfast training for advanced users?Jan 30, 2011

I've been using Wordfast for about 7 years now and I absolutely love it, but I know that I'm not making the most of the tools offered by Wordfast, especially in how I can maximize my TMs and glossaries. I know I could be boosting my productivity a lot more, I've just never gotten beyond the basic knowledge required to use the program and its main features.

I know I can search the manual and online forums for certain questions, but I'm a visual or "class" learner, so I would love it if

I know I could be boosting my productivity a lot more, I've just never gotten beyond the basic knowledge required to use the program and its main features.

I know I can search the manual and online forums for certain questions, but I'm a visual or "class" learner, so I would love it if someone would create a webinar, video or session designed for advanced users of Wordfast to explain time-saving and efficiency tips (like just what does Pandora's box do, and if my glossary suggests a term, how can I insert it in the segment without retyping?) and other advanced features.

Basically I only deal with the TM and Terminology tabs of the program, with the other tabs being unknown (and scary!) territory!

Possible?

" but I know that I'm not making the most of the tools offered by Wordfast,"
I feel exactly the same way and I would definitely attend a Wordfast in person training seminar if someone would have one nearby - I'm in Pittsburgh.
