Source text - English The city of Luoyang is located in western Henan Province. Its strategic location allowed it to be known in the ancient days as the “Centre of the World” and the “Hinterland of the Provinces”. As a birthplace of the Chinese civilization, the city received its name from its position in the north of the Luo River.
Luoyang was among the first batch of historical cities announced by the State Council and one of the seven major capitals in ancient China. It was capital city to the Xia Dynasty – ancient China's first dynasty – as well as 13 other dynasties during China’s long history. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Luoyang already boasted a population of over a million people, making it one of the most prosperous cities in the ancient world.
Given the city’s rich history, it is thus not surprising that there are numerous ancient relics in Luoyang. In fact, it is a rare sight even anywhere in the world to find the structures of Xia, Shang, Zhou, Han, Wei and Sui and Tang Periods lining along the Luo River. Other famous landmarks include Longmen (or Dragon Gate) Grottoes; Mudan (Peony) Park in Wangcheng (King City); Wangcheng (King City) Plaza and the Museum of the Six-horse Carriage for the Emperor, etc.
Today, the city of Luoyang is also a bustling industrial city known for the production of tractors, mining machinery and bearings. Other industries such as steel processing, textile and oil refinery are also highly developed here. The city is also a transportation hub for Longhai and Jiaoliu railroads.

אורחים יקרים,
מאחורי כל אחד ממשתתפי המשלחת יש סיפור. כל אחד מייצג היסטוריה משפחתית ענפה וסיפור משפחתי אותו יוכל לספר שעות. יש לנו כאן הזדמנות יוצאת דופן לשמוע סיפורים רבים ומעניינים ומכולם יחד לקבל תמונת שורשים, שורשינו אנו, באופן כמעט נדיר וחד-פעמי. את זמני הנסיעה הארוכים באוטובוסים ניתן לנצל בין היתר להשמעת סיפורים אישיים ומשפחתיים מן העיירה.
