In addition to the occasional enjoyable poetic translation which lets me practise my alliteration, I love translating marketing and tourism pieces where the tone of voice is often casual, but also tailored to the specific customer.

Since these jobs come along less often, I have also become highly skilled at pharma/medical translations. These include adverse event reports, drug trial protocols, ethical review communications, patient medical reports and many other texts in this field. It was a steep learning curve at first, but after more than 7 years I've become the go-to guy in my language pairs at a number of agencies.

I still learn something new every time and thoroughly enjoy the challenge.

Another big interest of mine is business. I help my wife run a jewellery design business here in London, UK and worked in my family's business for many years which focused on importing and distributing Swedish products in the UK.

My 7+ years as working as a freelance translator has given me the chance to become proficient in banking correspondence, financial statements and annual reports, insurance contracts, and a wide range of other financial texts. 

I've also become highly skilled in legal documentation, translating case materials such as court judgments, submissions/subpoenas, patent disputes, shareholder lawsuits, construction litigation and much more.
