I was brought up bilingual, having both Estonian and Finnish as mother tongues. Studying in an international school provided me with fluency in English from a young age. This made me become fascinated with languages and led me to study philology. I have dual BA in Estonian and Swedish philology and in reviewing-editing in Estonian language.

I have been active as a translator since 2006, when I started working in a Swedish translation company Newspeak AB. Since 2007 I have been covering such language pairs as English-Estonian-English, Finnish-English, Finnish-Estonian, and later Swedish-Estonian and Swedish-English.

In addition to translating foreign literature into Estonian, I publish my own work, mainly about local history (see "Kärde küla talud 1921-2011" and “Kärde mõisast Tooma katsebaasini”).

My client base consists of local and international companies active mainly in marketing, manufacturing and IT. Having worked as an IT specialist, I not only translate websites, but also create and administrate them in html and WP environments.

I have been a long-term (since 2010) partner of Estonia's leading IT training company IT Koolituskeskuse OÜ (http://www.koolitus.ee), by translating mainly software, their homepage and training materials (e.g. Estonian ID card user manual). Estonia's leading technical translations agency Tehnilise Tõlke Keskus OÜ (http://estonian.translationco.eu) has been another valued partner since 2007.

Depending on the language combination and the complexity of the text, in average I translate about 2000 words per day (8 hours). I'm open for negotiations about a discount in my rates when documents larger than 10 000 words are in question and I very much look forward to cooperating with you.
