PhD, MEng, MSc with an absolute passion for English and details
After completing my 5 year degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Padova, I continued my studies with a PhD in Energy Engineering, combined between the University of Padova and the University of Southampton (Marie Curie fellowship of the European Commission FP6 and European Doctorate in Sound and Vibration Studies). Once completed the PhD, I moved to London to the multidisciplinary engineering and architectural practice BDP (Building Design Partnership) where I worked for 6 years. While working at BDP I attended a number of language courses (“Effective Writing” and Cambridge Proficiency Examination course at King’s College London) and I enrolled on the MSc "Building Services Engineering with Sustainable Energy" at Brunel University, East London, which I have completed in distance learning.
Recently, I have worked on a number of translation jobs with the University of Udine (Faculty of Engineering) and also on a series of volunteering translation jobs in the medical field.
Other work experiences relate to engineering jobs with an internationally recognised practice in Padova and teaching (Maths and Applied English) in secondary schools in Portogruaro (Venice).
As part of my Continuing Professional Development I constantly search for opportunities to improve my written English (eg. composition/writing courses as MOOCs). I have a great passion for details and accuracy, which are always recognised in my jobs.
