Affirmations are statements that you can repeat silently or out loud to yourself, over and over, until the constant repetition becomes meaningless and you are aware only of the sound of the affirmation in your head. Although repeating statements in this way may seem pointless at first, try to persevere because they are a powerful tool and can have some very positive effects on your mind and overall well-being.
Affirmations in meditation
In meditation, affirmations are often used for a different purpose, namely to stop the endless chatter of the brain. If, when you are meditating, you find it hard to stop your mind from distracting you, repeating a simple affirmation blocks the communication channel so that the mind cannot feed you other thoughts. It works in the same way as counting the breaths in that it enables you to block out distractions by concentrating on something else. Some people find affirmations easier to do than counting the breaths.
During meditation, we usually repeat affirmations while we are focusing on something else, such as sensations. Since the purpose of the affirmation is to block out invading thoughts, the meaning of the affirmation is unimportant, but it does no harm to choose to say something positive so that, after constant repetition, the idea will take root in the subconscious mind. However, remember that the main aim here is to counteract the chattering of the brain, not to feed it ideas that may distract you further.

Choć powtarzanie danych stwierdzeń w ten sposób będzie ci się początkowo wydawać bezcelowe, postaraj się w tym wytrwać, albowiem afirmacje są potężną siłą i mogą bardzo pozytywnie wpłynąć na twój umysł czy też ogólnie na twoją sytuację.
Afirmacje w medytacji
Afirmacje są podczas medytowania używane do innego celu, a mianowicie do tłumienia ciągłej gonitwy myśli. Jeśli podczas medytowania trudno ci będzie powstrzymać umysł od rozpraszania cię, zacznij powtarzać prostą afirmację, która zablokuje kanały komunikacji i umysł nie będzie mógł ci podawać innych myśli. Działa tu ta sama zasada, co przy liczeniu oddechów, a jej sens jest taki, że uniemożliwia ona rozpraszanie się, koncentrując naszą uwagę na jednym elemencie. Niektóre osoby łatwiej radzą sobie z powtarzaniem afirmacji niż z liczeniem oddechów.
Medytując, zwykle powtarzamy afirmację, a jednocześnie koncentrujemy się na czymś innym, na przykład na doznaniach. A ponieważ celem afirmacji jest zablokowanie natarczywych myśli, samo jej znaczenie nie jest ważne, choć oczywiście powinno to być coś pozytywnego, gdyż poprzez ciągle powtarzanie dana treść zapadnie w podświadomość. Ale pamiętaj, że chodzi tu przede wszystkim o uciszenie twego wewnętrznego głosu, a nie o dalsze rozpraszanie się myślami.

Tekst źródłowy - angielski It was confirmed in June 2005 that a scrubbing facility at the Borregaard factory in Sarpsborg, Norway was very likely the source of the Legionella outbreak which affected the Sarpsborg area in May, unfortunately claiming the lives of 10 people and leaving over 40 people ill.
Orkla will include a brief statement in its 2005 Annual Report about the incident and the measures which have been taken to ensure that similar problems cannot arise in other facilities. We want to use this memo partly to inform people about the health risks which may be involved when Legionella bacteria are present in factories and other premises, as well as to chart the location of facilities which may be a source of aerosols contaminated with Legionella bacteria.
Please make sure that this memo is sent as soon as possible to the managers of the production units within the factory you are responsible for, making sure that forms are completed and returned by 9 December 2005 at the latest (see address below).

Zmarło wówczas 10 osób, a ponad 40 poważnie zachorowało.
Orkla w swym Rocznym Raporcie z 2005 roku zamieści krótkie stanowisko o tym wydarzeniu i o środkach zapobiegawczych, które mają sprawić, by nie doszło w przyszłości do podobnej tragedii w innym miejscu. Chcemy w tej notatce poinformować o zagrożeniu zdrowia wiążącym się z obecnością bakterii szczepu Legionella w fabrykach czy innych budynkach, a także wskazać lokalizację obiektów, które mogą być źródłem aerozoli skażonych tymi bakteriami.
