Translation - English One day after presidential inauguration, anti-Trump demonstrations and rallies take place across the United States
January 22nd, 7:14 a.m.
Only a day after the inauguration of Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States, millions of people took part in demonstrations and rallies held in the capital Washington D.C. and around the country. The participants demanded respect for the rights of women, immigrants, sexual minorities, and the like, once more bringing into stark relief the divide within American society.
On January 21st, one day after his inauguration, President Trump visited the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. and participated in a traditional event where clergy of various religions—such as Christianity, Judaism, and Islam—offered prayers.
However, demonstrations opposing the new president took place around the country, from Washington to New York and Boston in the East, Chicago in the Midwest, Los Angeles in the West, and elsewhere. The total number of participants was estimated at several million.
