Mutual assistance request to Switzerland in the matter of XXXX and XXXX
I am writing in relation to Australia’s mutual assistance request to Switzerland in the matter of XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX dated XXXX. I refer to your letter dated XXXX in which you ask for further information from Australian authorities (Attachment A refers).
In relation to item 5(a) of the letter, the New South Wales Police Officer intending to travel to Switzerland to assist in the execution of this request, if permitted by Swiss authorities, is Detective Senior Constable XXXX XXXX XXXX, Homicide Squad, State Crime Command, New South Wales Police Force.
In relation to item 5(b) of the letter, I can confirm that Detective Senior Constable XXXX has indicated that he is willing to sign a ‘declaration of guarantee’ to undertake to not use information obtained from any interview with XXXX XXXX in Switzerland without first obtaining the consent of Swiss authorities.
In relation to item 5(c) of the letter, please see attached a list of preliminary questions for XXXX XXXX (Attachment B refers).
In relation to item 5(d) of the letter, I can confirm that the New South Police has undertaken to cover the reasonable costs of a translator to attend any interview with XXXX.
In relation to item II, I can confirm that the New South Police wishes to make a video record of any interview with XXXX, if permitted by Swiss authorities.
